Elon Musk Buys 9.2% of Twitter

It will be interesting to see if any major changes come from this other than the Edit button, which was likely already on Twitter's road map for new features but was pushed to coincide with Musk buying the stock and joining the board.

The Twitter board and officers may not be happy that he bought in because he will likely be quite visible and vocal going forward on Twitter and with Twitter comments from him.

However, if they frame it right (and so far they have) they could use his arrival to boost their brand and increase investor confidence going forward.

I have gotten where I just use twitter during the NFL off season.
See what is going on in FA and before and during the draft.

I own stock in Twitter and am glad to hear Musk is onboard.

Twitter encapsulates the best and the worst of society but it is undeniably one of the most important social media platforms out there in terms of providing updates nearly in real-time in short form; there’s nothing really out there like it.

With that said, it needs to be tweaked and with new voices/eyes/brains in terms of moving it forward.

I love Twitter for Sports...

Occasionally pop culture rolls across my feed, but overallI use it sports. It's great during playoffs and such too.

First it is shocking that the valuation of Twitter is over $30 billion. But Musk's 9.2% share may give him a voice but he is just the largest shareholder, not the majority shareholder. He may find the experience very frustrating compared to how he deals with his own businesses My guess is the other large shareholders, and Twitter's executive board are fairly well entrenched in their own business strategies and will be hard to move. It would not surprise me if a year or two from now we hear Musk sold most of his position.

The other large shareholders after Elon are institutions, the largest private shareholder after Elon is Dorsey at 2%. The institutions will fall in line and vote with Elon guaranteed imo.

You've obviously never seen my 'gram stories. They have been described as a zeitgeist in and of themselves. Im sure some other than my mom feel that way too

From what he has said, he will be a passive investor. However the edit poll definitely makes you feel otherwise

As the largest minority share holder Musk is on Twitter’s Board if Directors.

He was a Passive investor, I believe he is no longer that, it has been amended I believe. Just bought a Tesla in March, Elon has really reimagined the automobile. I have had all of the performance cars and still do actually, but what he has done with Tesla is really mind boggling imo. There is really no comparison between Tesla and ICE. I will continue to own my ICE vehicles, but don’t know if I would ever spend the $ to buy another one. That is how profound the difference is. And as an fyi I could care less about it being Green, no interest at all.

*Sniff*

You smell like money.

Lol I have one vehicle and I'm about to sell it.

I was surprised he was going to join the board honestly and limit his options, so definitely not surprised to see him change his mind.

Quite Excellent, why would Musk want to be hamstrung by the 14.9% rule. TWTR CEO better start looking for a new gig, Good riddance.
