I originally wanted us to play La'el Collins at right tackle. I understand that may never be in the cards for him, but I always envisioned Smith, Leary, Frederick, Martin, Collins.

At this rate I think it's pretty obvious that Green is the future at right tackle.

It's unfortunate that we're going to have to say goodbye to Leary at the end of the season and not get anything in return for him other than a comp pick.

Similarly, I'm surprised they didn't move on from McFadden, even if all they could get was a 7th round or a conditional 7th round draft pick. I'm guessing that Smith was cut to make room for McFadden returning to the roster, but where is he going to get the carries? As far as chemistry goes, I think reducing Elliott's workload is a complete mistake. Already not liking how we're using him in games lately. Adding McFadden to that mix probably won't help. Unless the Cowboys see McFadden as a replacement for Dunbar, I'm not sure what they're thinking in keeping him. He just doesn't fit our scheme.

I don't think it has been talked about enough about how good he was filling in for Tyron

If Green is the future at RT, then sign Leary, and trade Collins for a high pick.

Leary is just better than Collins. Period.

Good point, Leary is only 27 years old, not old by any means. And Collins could fetch a high round pick with these offensive line starved teams.

And I'm not embarrassed, just shyyyyy :)

I think Leary could get 5 to 6 million per on the market. Maybe even more from a team starving for OL help. That could net us a 2018 #4 ( assuming we stick to low money guys in FA). Wouldnt be a bad haul for Leary. I think of Williams walks and we don't counter the signing we could get a 4th for Leary and a 5th for Williams.

I honestly think Green is a better OT then Collins. My worry with him is health

Exactly.

I can see paying $6 mil per year as a bench guy.

I'll take a 4th round comp pick.

At this point I can see the Cowboys drafting both a guard and a tackle come April.

and a 5th for Williams.
I think if there was a ever a "hometown discount" guy, it would be T-Will. He is a local kid, and seems to be really digging his role here. Better to have a long career as a number two guy than flame out somewhere as the number one. Plus, he has really quieted down the "start Brice Butler" crowd for now.

I see Leary being in Washington next year. They like to pay FA's so your math could be right.

Gah we can't allow that to happen.

Washington still has Callahan, a pro bowl LT, and Emerging stud guard. If they drafted a great center and signed Leary they might be better than we are at what we do best

I just don't see us trading anyone while on this role. A big offseason push with a bye; a possible NFC title appearance....more? Leary, Collins, McFadden...even if they never played a down, having that depth ready when injury strikes is the difference between winning and losing. Without Zeke, our offense would be sorely limited without the quickness, blocking, and pass receiving of McFadden or Dunbar.

Green is the future at T, and Collins is the future at G.
