Eminem sold most albums this decade

That is so sorry.

I was thinking the other day while watching the 25th rock n roll hall of fame anniversary show.....what are my 10 favorite albums of the decade.....

then as I thought about it I realized I basically had about only 5.

It was a bad decade for music.

I guess my 3 favorites of the last 10 years would be

The Rising -- Springsteen and the E Street Band
All that you can't leave behind -U2
Continuum - John Mayer

Not even sure I could name 10 cds I bought this decade that were really good.

Best cd of the last 10 years....

John Mayer? woooow

Give me the Segal or Bruce Willis CD over that.

If there was a Heisman for ******bags, Mayer would be a finalist.

It was a bad decade for music? Remember being a kid and your grandparents would say, that music you listen to is just noise, back in my day, they made real music!

You are now your grandparents.

There was plenty of good music made this decade, just like every other decade there was even more crap. It's always been that way.

As far as the OP, I like Eminem but he goofs around too much. Too much rapping about Lindsy Lohan and Jessica Simpson for me. I'm pretty sure he gave up putting together solid CD's years ago because he knows people will by anything.

No I am not my grandparents, although my beard is turning white already just like my grandfather in his early 30s.

And Hey i bought tons of cds over the last 10 years, there just were not many good solid albums. A handful of one hit wonders etc...but not albums.

You compare the last 10 years of music to the 90s and the 80s and its a no contest.

The whole business has been over run by american idol type music. Its awful.

Wow, tough act to pull consider the last 2-3 albums have been crapola.

This is pretty much right, but c'mon... Eminem HAS been **** for his past 2 or 3 albums. But guys like Jay-z have put out good urban stuff this decade.

And theebs, if you want to talk rock, the White Stripes, Radiohead, System of a Down, Green Day, Chili Peppers, Queens of the Stone Age, Tool, Audioslave, Modest Mouse, and my favorite Muse have all put out good-to-great albums this decade.

Also, you could argue that John Meyer is a ******, but he's got talent.

Yeah I do like muse and modest mouse. I also like many other bands that are current.

My point is that I dont think albums/cd's as a whole are good. there maybe one good or great song and then nothing.

There are some indy bands that I like that have good albums, like ra ra riot, bon iver, spoon, band of horses.....I just dont think the albums they put out are really that great as a whole...just a few scattered good songs.

and as far as john mayer, I just like the continuum album, I really dont know all that much about him and I dont own anymore of his music. Just that one.

I think the single/album thing is just how music is going. Artists dont' make traditional albums anymore because consumers don't buy music that way. It's more about buying the $0.99 song off itunes; albums don't sell much anymore.

For that matter, even people who pirate don't pirate whole albums anymore. Think it's just producers (artists) conforming to the changing consumption of music.

W/ like 32 million.

Beatles #2, then some country guys.

If that's not a commentary about the state of music in this decade, I don't know what is...

I agree, people like Eminem.

My first guess was Mariah Carey, I thought I heard she sold a ton. But Eminem #1 was good to hear.
