Emmanuel Acho Brilliantly Breaks Down Trades That Fits For The 3-4

So….either CP fails, or fixes this mess and gets a HC job within two years.

Then we can spend another few years getting the players to fit the new scheme.

The purpose of the exhaustive coaching search was to have assistants ready to move up to keep continuity. So if everything works out we’ll be running this scheme for a long.

If true, all fine.

But I’ve seen this team throw away seasons by not having the correct personnel. That could be fine if you’re rebuilding, but they weren’t.

DFC Christian Parker Is All Over This..These Trades Fits For The 3-4 defense

And that’s why Winfrey, Thomas, and Osa are all gone. There is nowhere for them to play, and frankly, none of them do anything better than Williams and Clark.

If anyone wants to actually watch the clip and actually listen to what Acho said, he was spot on.

Osa did not fit this scheme. Period. And maybe some of the free agent names we've been banging our heads into the wall for not signing didn't fit either.
It was obvious that he didn’t fit this scheme. Figured they would dump him cheap just to get rid of the salary. Still can’t believe they got a 3rd for him. Figured Jerry would get a 5th or 6th and be happy that got rid of that salary for a player that didn’t fit.

So basically, the Cowboys need to trash their strongest defensive unit, the DTs.

This transition is going to have bumps along the way. i wouldn't count on a one-season miracle turnaround.

So who plays NT in this newly revamped 3-4?
Parker has mentioned Clark being an NT. With us trading Osa and bringing in Ogbonnia, I thought the new guy might absorb the NT snaps, but we may be looking at him at the other DT spot. Of course, with Ogbonnia being signed for one year, $3 million we might be counting him only to be a backup. He did start every game for the Chargers in 2024 before only appearing in nine games in 2025.

Maybe Ryan Smith or Derrick Ansley will step up ?

Derrick Ansley is a Saban/Fangio student and is highly thought of.

Ryan Smirh is only 32 and was the first coach Parker hired

This guy is full of knowledge. Who else would know about this?

Williams - 6’3, 305
Clark - 6’3”, 314
Ogbonnia - 6’4”, 320
Toia - 6’2”, 342
The first three will be our starters. Toia is awful. We still need significant depth upgrades. And if possible, upgrade OO. We have the draft!

Exactly. Also why Jethro and son were blabbing about looking at DTs in the first. Ideally we get at keast 1 that pushes OO to a backup role.

Yeah, we may have DT higher on our list than I thought entering into this offseason.

We do now.

Osa would have been a great backup to Williams. Probably the top backup in the league. But a backup isnt worth what he was getting paid.

He could end up being very productive for the 9ers. Basically a win win for both teams.
