What exactly did he do to DESECRATE the star?? It's not like he went out there and took a dump...for pete's sake...Maybe just maybe he was being phrophetic....hmmm...ever think about it that way??

George Teague coaches the football team at my church....he told us that at the time it made him mad (Just because of the heat of the moment) but that when thinking back about it...it wasn't all that big of a deal....

He went in the middle of the stadium and looked into the heavens....big freaking deal....

As one poster puts it...get some nads...

Desecrate's a strong word without a doubt. But I remember watching that game and absolutely flipping out that he had the nerve to run to the center of the field and essentially give a big "**" to the entire stadium. I have and will always have a clips of Teague destroying him the second time as well as Emmitt's reclaiming of the star that game. It's just poor sportsmanship to celebrate yourself on the other team's center logo. I'm very scared about this whole TO experiment myself.

As for this v. Emmitt's 'n Irvin's celebrations I think they're wholly different. I never took anything from Emmitt's removing his helmet other than "Made it to the endzone, now I can take this damn thing off" Too bad with liscensing restrictions he didn't have a star painted on his head or else I'm sure they never would've gotten rid of it. As for Irvin... pointing forward for a first down and making a center spectacle of yourself away from the center of the action on the field are wholly different.

For me, seeing Irvin and Smith get behind the TO signing is literally the only thing keeping me a Cowboys' fan. This sort of BS never would've gone down with Landry or previous ownership. It just taints the organization to bring in someone this 'me-centric' I'm personally threw giving TO chances. I live with 2 philly fans and after watching him do to them and the Eagles what he did last season, I'd rather not make the playoffs then make it 1 year w/ TO before all hell breaks loose.

Interesting take there. I concur wholeheartedly. Its a shame we are in the minority. What happened to good ole American Pride. That Cowboys pride. I am glad that Landrys not hear to see this, it woulda killed him.

wth is the problem? everything he said is true. You dont think 49ers fans were loving it when TO stood on our star. I am going to love TO's celebrations and dances etc. a lot this year because he is going to be disrespecting the fecals, jints and deadskins.

I was very disappointed yesterday, yes, even shocked, at what my all-time favorite player had to say on ESPN when discussing Terrell Owens. He began with the "now that he's on our side, let's get behind him" mantra. Then, what he said next sent a jolt of disbelief through me. The following is a paraphrase:

"Cowboys' fans, including myself, were very upset at him when he desecrated the star, and our stadium....but, now, we can cheer him on while he desecrates other teams' stadiums."

WWWHHHAAATTT!!!...................

Say it ain't so, Emmitt! So, when he shows terrible sportsmanship to us, it's uncalled for, and there's no place in sports for that kind of behavior...kinda like what you said, Emmitt, after he dissed the Star. However, when he's wearing the Silver & Blue, anything goes? No way!

How can we call ourselves Cowboy fans with pride the first time he mocks a players' victory dance, as he did to Ray Lewis last year after scoring TDs against the Ravens....or when he insinuates his former QB is a faggot, like he did to Jeff Garcia two years ago,.....or even now, when he writes rap songs & books, berating his former team, the Eagles, for what he brought on himself?? ......etc., etc.

Come on, Emmitt. It's one thing to speak out supporting the jerk, now that he's a Cowboy. It's another to commend his juvenile, unsportsmanlike conduct we've all witnessed, on the field, & in front of the cameras for years. After all, the children of our country are still watching and listening to you, Emmitt. "Anything goes, as long as you're on my team". Is this the message you want to send them?

What TO did was disrespectful to the Cowboys and the fans he showed no class and should he do it elsewhere like Philly it again only shows the guy has no class. TO has earn his reputation too bad his action will be tied to the Cowboys now

Is Emmitt gonna be in the locker room? Emmitt had class as a player. TO will never have class as a player. This is iust one more example of a move Jerry made that Jimmy would not have made.

Why? Because Jimmie was all about class?

:star: Life can be very hard at times. All of us have made mistakes along

to be worse than others.Unless you have been where others have been you can't understand why people do as they do.We live in a world and even in
the church where people condemn one another with no mercy. This is not
to imply that what people do is acceptable. We all face things even in our own families that we hate but we don't immediately terminate our relationships. Some people never change but many do so let's be more
patient with others. You might be pleasantly surprised.God bless you all.

Pearson: T.O. a bad fit
Drew Pearson thought the Dallas Cowboys, his former team, had better judgment.
Pearson didn't think the Cowboys would stoop to signing controversial receiver Terrell Owens. He also doesn't know if it's possible to fit the right parts around him.
"My first reaction, naturally, was surprise." Pearson told the Star-Telegram of Fort Worth. "I always thought the Cowboys' organization was above characters like that and that we could be successful without bringing in those type of characters. But I understand the evolution of the game, the salary cap and free agency, and this is the way it is now in the NFL.
"At the same time you can't discount character, integrity and those kind of things."
I noticed the older Cowboy fans look at it differently than the younger ones. I think it comes down to tradition and a since of history. Me, as a Commander fan, I will still find it easy to hate your Cowboys, but much more difficult to respect them.

Dude, that pic is hillarious !!!!!!!!!

BTW, if your skins had signed TO i bet you'd be sitting here dreaming about how many points your offense was gonna score.

Every team has players that are troublemakers, the thing is that TO's antics have been widely publicized and add to the fact that he is one of the premier players at a flashy position. There are plenty of players on every NFL team that have done worse.

Let the "pass" be the "pass". :lmao2: Isn't football about winning games? I guess you'll be mad if/when we get to Miami this season and everyone is saying it's cuz of TO huh? Well I've been a Boyz fan for 20 years now and when the "Star" incident happened I actually thought it was funny. You know, TO being TO.
