Emmitt: Are you sure Pickens is a 1 WR?

In what world isn't Pickens a WR1?
Keep in mind, to be fair to 22, who he played with lol. One of the best ever to lace them up at the wr position. The playmaker. So from his point of view, that standard is very high bar to attain. I get it.

I don't care if he is considered a WR1, but he sure is a great compliment to CD.
Best we have had at WR2 since Harper and his time share with Irvin.
Terence Williams was an underrated Dez compliment.

That's fair ..... but as far as I know Pickens has never stabbed a teammate with a pair of scissors before.
Oh crap lol. Well duh. That is besides the point ha ha. Seriously, one has nothing to do with the other.

If i am hiring 2 guys and I find out one of them stabbed a coworker in the neck?

Football is the only place where that would be ignored and excused by everyone.

Pickens won’t like it but I’d Franchise Tag him and see how it goes if he isn’t totally happy.

Maybe we’ll see why Steelers let him go. If not and he has another great year then we extend him. And we’ll know how much better of team we have.

Let's just let them compliment one another......opinions are going to make this go bad if the right people aren't careful.....Jerry, George, and Cee Dee. Let it play out.

First, what did having TWO number 1 WRs do to win games this year? It is beyond a luxury when we have a historically bad defense.

Second, as has been said, having #1 talent and being THAT guy you can count on game in and game out are two very different things. Pickens has #1 talent. He is NOT someone Id count on. Especially after getting a huge contract.

There is so much more to being a super star than just talent.

When I look at Pickens on the field I don't see a top-5-NFL receiver, but I do see a receiver who makes a lot of plays and catches the ball better than any other receiver on the Cowboys.

He may not be the #1 receiver for every team out there because a few teams have all-around great receivers, but when it comes to making big plays and catching the ball, he does that really well.

If I had to pick between them and I needed a Cowboys receiver for a whole game, I would choose Lamb (assuming he gets the drop problem fixed), but if I needed a receiver on a game winning drive, I would choose Pickens.

To be clear, that's not bashing either receiver for anything (other than Lamb for the drops of course), but simply saying both receivers complement each other and the team quite well.

Pickens to me is no #1.

But he has that Moss factor in him. He is a threat you have to recon with on every down. And even if perfectly covered he will make the play. Either that or draw the PI.

And thats such a rare trait you usually find only in those great WRs.

He is no #1 because of a lot of reasons but you dont need a real #1 oposite of him also. You may pair him with a so-so #2 WR like Harper and have a very powerful passing game.

Lamb overall is the much better WR but he lacks that threat trait. He has more of an workhorse character. And with him you need a much better #2 to have the same powerful passing game.
