He was very raw and mediocre when he started. However, with each passing week, he has improved.....it is a slow process. Many people go to school for this and still take time to mature and grow into it.

However, if ESPN shows patience with him, they will be rewarded. If there is one thing about Emmitt, he demands excellence in himself. If he does something, he goes balls out to do it. He will work and work and work, until he is satisfied with his performance. He did it as a football player. He did it as a dancer. And now, he will do it as an analyst.

It is fun watching him in his broadcasting infancy.....watching him butcher the english language, fumble through sentences, skew some facts here and there.....However, he does a great job of bringing his knowledge for the game to the table. He also does a great job of keeping Steve Old and MeShawn Johnson in check....

This board attacks Emmitt with wreckless abandon.....and I know a lot of it is in good fun, but some of it is quite mean spirited and spiteful. However, MeShawn gets a pass? I would take Emmitt over MeShawn any day as an analyst. MeShawn merely spews hate and bitterness with every utterance from his egotistical piehole. At least Emmitt tries to bring a positive spin on most things.

If I were ESPN, I would remove MeShawn and replace him with someone else.....Boomer, Ditka, Jackson, Emmitt, Mort, Jaws, Young, and Mayne are all good enough to stay on the show....but it is MeShawn that really needs to go.

Dallas was the team of the 90s on the field......and now they are the team of the Millennium for analysts....Aikman, Johnston, Irvin, Emmitt, Woodson, Newton, Larry Brown, Jimmy, Deion and I am sure there are a few others that I don't know about.....
