Anybody just watch Emmitt dominate that author of "Boys Will Be Boys" on Outside The Lines, regarding the subject of 'high-character' players being brought into Dallas? It was nice to hear for the first time EVER on ESPN someone giving Terrell Owens the credit that he hasn't had any dirty laundry since re-starting in Dallas.

Wow! Emmitt came to the defense of the star. They were discussing how Jerry and the Cowboys gave second chances to questionable characters, as if they were the only ones to do so and that it was a bad thing. Emmitt said that america is the land of second chances and if that was the nature of professional sports, as another writer said, then why are they singling out the Cowboys. At the end he made a snide comment about the writer of "Boys being Boys" to keep selling books. Sounds like he thinks the writer is attacking the boys just to sell books. I still love Emmitt... he bleeds silver and blue.

That author guy kinda pissed me off.

And why is Bob getting on the cowboys when the Bengals released Henry because they were "fed up" with his off the field antics. Then all of a sudden sign him again.

Also its funny how some unnamed GM said Jerry is ruining what Goodell is trying to make this league into. Then Goodell on the record says he has no problem with what jerry is doing and he is glad players get a second chance so they can get helped.

players deserve 2nd and 3rd chances. I'm glad we signed TO, I'm glad we signed Tank, and I'm glad we signed Pacman. There seems to be some good chemistry at Valley Ranch. ;)

People in general deserve 2nd and 3rd chances. It's rare that people don't make a major mistake or two in life.

The key is the way Jerry has been doing it the past few years. He's essentially painted these guys in a corner where the Cowboys can cut the player immediately if they act up and that player really knows that this is their last chance in the league.

It's far different from the days of Jerry drafting guys like Antonio Bryant and Derrick Ross and it's the reason why it's been working. And like I said, if it doesn't work out, Dallas can just cut the player with little reprecussion.

Interesting in ESPN's Nation Enquirer style presentation, they fail to give Jones, the Cowboys, or the players themselves any credit for remaining out of trouble since being with the team.

But what should we expect from BSPN?

They use the broad brush of players with 'issues' to lump everyone together in an attempt to make their case stronger.

Fail.

It's funny to point out the Cowboys at this time when the Cowboys have the longest current player arrest-less streak in the NFL.

Yep, and Jeff Pearlman still doesn't like what the Cowboys are doing. It would be nice to see somebody who is objective to write about the Cowboys for once.
