Emmitt was pretty fired up about ole Tony in the article. Called fans who criticize him "A bunch of bandwagonners."

He says everybody loved him when we went 13-3 and the talent level was better, now everybody has jumped ship. Fans should just leave him alone.
(Much like Troy who once said, "Dallas isn't a Cowboy town - it's a winners town.")

Says he's seen him mature a lot and is excited for him and the team.

Romo is an elite QB but it takes the whole team to win a lot playoff games/SB and we all know we've got too many starters who shouldn't be & not enough quality backups.

Our defense needs significant upgrade in all areas. Ware & Lee are our best players along with Ratliff who is wearing down. Hopefully Carter wins ILB job outright in TC or shows enought talent to prove he's the eventual answer at that position. Our secondary needs significant upgrading at both safety & CB.
We all need the problem with our OL. We also need a real #3 WR who hopefully is already on the team but who knows; a real TE opposite Witten who can also serve to replace Witten eventually, etc.

We've got too many needs to address all the problems in this draft. Hopefully we have a really good draft but bet all of us worried about what/who the Cowboys will pick & if we can sign any really good undrafted FA.

I wish the same Emmitt but I know better. It will be a cold day in hell when Cowboy fans lay off the QB whose team has not won a SB. I saw this with Meredith, White and Romo. All 3 very good QB and very capable but some will never get the fact that the QB does not win SB's, teams do. If the team comes up short then it was the team who failed not 1 player some will never understand this and it is a waste of time trying to explain it to them.

The fans booing had alot to do with Dandy Don Meredith's early retirement too. Then the next year wanted him back after he retired to the MNF telecast booth. I would think Danny White got his fill of it as well.
