Again praying for his family. They will need each other like never before........I hate to say it but death has a way of bringing out some odd/strange behaviors in people you never thought you would see. ( especially relatives )

I will always remember the quote from Emmitts father telling him, “ when you score a TD, act like you’ve been there before”……..it was in reference to him not over celebrating every TD

Read it in one of his biographies…….he was clearly raised right.

One of my favorite football HOF moments was during Emmitt's acceptance speech, he thanked his father, and you could see him mouth back confidently "no, YOU the man!"

I saw an episode of a TV show where the "celebrity" does a house make-over for one of their relatives. Emmitt did one on his Father's house. It looked great after the make-over. You got to see his Dad (who was on oxygen at that time) during that process. Seemed like a very good man who everyone liked and admired. RIP Mr. Smith.

Afraid so......and you got that right when it's relatives. I've personnally seen and experienced some SMH moments. But nevertheless.....hope that's not the case for Emmitt's family. If so.....simply ignore.

RIP, Emmitt's Dad -- here's hoping Emmitt overcomes such a painful loss and accepts it for the best. I'm sure Emmitt's dad was a valuable help to Emmitt to become the exceptional man that he became. His dad should receive an eternal reward for his strength and kindness to his son.

I never had one because he did drugs, managed human trafficking rings and was always in jail, but I hope to be a better one some day.
