Emmitt dose not look or sound comfortable as an analyst.
For me it is painfull to watch.
I do enjoy Irvin ,Troy and Moose on the TV but I truly hope Emmitt improves.
Seems to me he has to relax and be himself.

Anyone else share this observation?

Darren Woodson is as good or better than any of them. JMO

Yeah I could not agree more I do love Emmitt as a player and I like how he is as a person at least from what I know about him.
That is why I think it bothers me a little that we are not getting the real Emmitt

Yeah, Deuce is not at all good in this capacity.

Troy is an outstanding color man for FOX. I feel, though not as polished, Michael Irvin is a great on ESPN. And like Hos, I think Woodson is outstanding on the NFL Network.

I love Emmitt but it is painful to listen to him and TD on the NFL network.

He's terrible and probably won't last long. Reminds me of how bad Joe Montana, Eric Dickerson, Ronnie Lott, etc. were. They didn't last long either.

Troy was pretty bad as a rookie and seeing Moose, Woody and others on their early attempts was a little disconcerting. I don't see Emmitt being a natural like Irvin but he is a hard working guy who should get better and as he gains experience he will be more comfortable. Right now he is painfully stiff thats for sure.

Well, maybe I guess its an individual thing, but I had commented, way back when they did NFL Europe gigs, that Troy, Moose and Woody would be good.

I think several others thought the same too. I thought Moose was the best of them. Irvin never did NFLE gigs, but when he did analyst job during Gailey era, during his injury, I thought he was natural fit for what he is doing right now. Not the best Analyst, but more of an entertaining guy much like Bradshaw.

Emmit I always thought didn't or couldn't communicate well. Anyway, I completely disagree that Troy, Moose or Woody were stiff or weren't good whe they started. Sure they have gotten better at it than when they started, but one could see they were good even then. I just don't see that with Emmit, hopefully I am wrong, since I would like to see him suceed.

Good lord, at least they took away that pen he was nervously clicking on one of his 1st appearances-it was as loud as everyone's speaking voices!

I haven't seen him yet, but I remember that TD was really bad when he first started and has improved a lot. I think it takes a while to know what to say and how to say it.

Emmitt has never really been a good public speaker, Woodson was always much more polished during press conferences and interviews, as was Troy.

One current Cowboy who I think is a cinch to become a national commentator or analyst when he hangs up his cleats is Keyshawn. He's been glib, candid, controversial and sharp the times Ive seen him as a guest. The man's never at a loss for words, Mr. Interview.

NFL Network is a disgrace to football. The only good analyst they have is Lincoln Kennedy. Football is a fast moving, passionate game. Total Access is slow, lethargic and plodding. The format sucks. They should have special days assigned to the teams so we'll know when our team will be the focal point. For example (Mondays could be NFC east, Tuesdays could be AFC east, etc, etc.). Stop with the 20 minute interviews on the stupid Total Access Cam (or whatever they call it). Only a few people care what Matt Hasselbeck thinks about the Seahawks. There is so much more that can be done with that show. Have I told you lately that I can't stomach :puke: Rich Eisen. He's like Napolean Dynamite on heroin.
