He can't be officially cut b/c he is injured. You can't cut injured guys.

At the end of the year his cut will be official.

Regardless of the league's definition of his status, when the head coach and owner indicate you've been released, then you are gone. Period.

We officially didn't cut Quincy because of his drug problem either. The fact is Rogers will not be a cowboy next year. He was put on IR as a formality. He cleared waivers, which means that anyone could have taken him if they wanted him. BTW that article says he is headed to IR not placed on IR. FWIW.
