From earlier today (there's lots more, but I thought these tidbits were particularly interesting):
Who's moving up?
• Rookie tight end Anthony Fasano is displaying excellent hands and he's not afraid of contact. His one-handed catch in Monday's second practice was outstanding.
• Rookie safety Pat Watkins is the name you should write down. This guy is rangy (6-5) and he can cover a lot of ground. The Cowboys would like to use Keith Davis solely as a special teams player, but he still wants to start.
• Plain and simple, Marco Rivera wasn't very good last season. Now, he's feeling like his old self. Rivera has also taken several of the young players under his wing. By the way, Rivera said he helps out rookies because it's the way he was treated.
• Disturbing sight of the day goes to Samuel Tauleealea (6-1, 320), who was spotted hopping into the Residence Inn hot tub between practices Monday. Also, if Samuel is actually 6-1, I'm 7-0.
• I'm becoming more of a Sam Hurd guy with every practice. Gets in and out of breaks as fast as anyone and appears to have solid hands.
