I'm getting sick of this and that about Tnew isn't what we crack him up to be. TNew is every bit of a shutdown CB in todays game. People don't realize that the rules have changed. I'll say it again, THE RULES HAVE CHANGED!

Deion and other grizzeled vet benefited from very light officiating in their day. The days of the slight bump to stop a receivers momentum after 5 yards is over. No more grabbing a shirt tail or a sleeve. A CB doesn't have the luxury to use those sly vet techniques anymore, if they were there would be 5 yard penalties every pass play. Shut up, and realize what the NFL has done to the CB positon. It is so scoring driven that the hardest position to play now is CB. There are no exceptions for the CBs in todays game.

You wanted a CB to play the ball more often and when TNEW bites, you *****! How many truly deep passes have been caught on TNEW? None!!!!!!!!! Most of the receptions that have been caught on him are the one right after the no touch zone whan receivers can seperate slightly, because after 10-12 yards he usually locked to a receivers hip. If not, the Qb most make a perfect throw and I haven't seen a perfect throw outside of 15 yards on TNEW this year. Don't give me this Randy Moss shiit either. No one in this league can stop Randy, except for JJ and his dumb azz decision to pass on him.

Have you really looked around the league and seen what the other so called shut down corners have done? Yeah, they have been beaten for TDs as well. You name them and they have been beaten, right on down to Champ and Charles.

Give it up, TNew may not be pro-bowl level yet, but he damn sure doesn't deserve the criticism that some of you have been pouring down on him.

We blitz ans TNew is on an island. We don't blitz and Zim still leaves him on a island. Must I bring up the likes of Charley Williams, Mathis, Hawthorne, Wheaten, Sparks, Brown, Edwards, and others that have come and gone to remind you of how bad we were in the Sec?

If you can't see that this kid is playing his azz off with these anti-CB rules, thewn kiss my azz and just hope we start Jines and Williams next game. Not to mention the rest of the year. Then watch at how poorly our DLine looks when it doesn't have 8 sec. to get a sack! Holla!

I like Newman as much as the next guy, but he does have a disturbing tendency to bite on double moves.

2 times that I can remember seeing, Tnew gave too much cushion in the end zone and had a TD scored on him. A receiver can't burn you deep in the end zone so there is no need to play off of him. I think he will learn tho.l :D

Get off his jock and actually watch him play, alright? He's been beaten for TD's at least 4 times this year. He may get better. But right now his game sucks.

Tnew has a plethora of faults starting off with (for the 1000 time) not turning around for the ball!

He plays on the opposite end of plays i.e. short throws he’s long, long throws he’s behind his receiver.

He’s way too short to play against tall WR’s but that nothing earth shaking, we knew that when we drafted him.

He get easily separated from the WR due to lack of speed; abet he’s better than any other CB on the team.

And worst of all, staring last game he took plays off.

I will give him the fact that he’s the fist Cowboy since Deion to actually try to strip the ball out once he’s beat.

Two things:

First, there hadn't been a TNew thread in a couple days. Your 'Enough about Tnew!!' is the only one about TNew on the first page at the moment. Ironic don't you think?

Second, the rules have NOT changed, they are just being enforced.

cant say I agree with any of your takes, but considering you say you'd trade Roy Williams for Sean Taylor right now that really isnt much of a surprise

Lack of speed? LOL...this is the worse arguement I've heard.

When he's aggresive and jump routes, he gets criticized for biting on double moves. When he gives a little coushion to prevent first downs on third and long, he gets criticized. But when he get's INT.....he's just doing what he's suppose to do.

Please...there're only a handful of top flight CBs in this league and ususally they get the benefits of a good passrush. Imagine if we have the CB's from Phili......

Leave the man be...he's playing as good as any defender we have and on par with some of the top CB's in the league.

Are you dumb or dumber. TNew gave up a one yard slant to Moss and a 3 yard comeback to Moss. Then he gave up the one to Gardner! Thats 3, and learn to count! Some of you will eat your words later in the year when he is taking a pick to the house. My bad, no you won't! Most of you will probably think he is supposed to do that with every pass thrown his way!

Oh yeah, its not a new rule, but they still can't hold or grab on those double moves any more and away with the tricks of the trade anymore. You know, those tricks that a Coates can give to Witten and you love it! If Tnew could do some of the same things he did last year with the holding and grabbing, it wouldn't be funny how receivers would be locked down. Not to mention a 3-4 sec pass rush!

I agree and this notion that Newman does not have speed? he is 4.37 guy that is far from being a slow CB. Newman is trying to be more aggressive and thus he has jump on some double move but as he grows in experiance his game is only going to get better.

Irvin use to beat up on Deion more than what people remember. So yes, TNew as well as other 'shutdown' corners will get beat now and then. Irvin also burned the 'Deion' of his time, the CB from the Commanders, Darrel Green, one of the best ever. Remember Aneas Williams in his prime with the Cardinals, yes Irvin beat him too.

TNew will be just fine, give everyone time to adjust to the new rules, defenses always figure out a way to overcome all these 'OFFENSIVE' rules. So they again will change it when defenses catch up. Probably, no less than a 2 yard cushion, something like the halo rule on punts.

Actually, Irvin had good games against Deion when Deion was young but that really evened out later.

I agree with you about Green. Mike always seemed to have good games against him. Williams was another story. Williams played Mike very well. Irvin did not have alot of success against him.
