Could care less about NA:

1. We were not and are not one player away from a SB
2. 12 million a year was just not an option for us
3. Great defenses are built on a pass rush, not a secondary
4. If opposing QB's are running for their lives, we can be average in the secondary and be just fine.
5. NA couldn't cover Dez if his live depended on it.

Deep breath everyone.

The eagles still suck and always will.

If there is a grand master plan, it certainly isnt obvious to most of us.

Speaking of this...I sure miss George Teague.

I'm still going to buy the Sunday ticket. Having said that, there's a lot of work the front office needs to do. Other than Tyron Smith, a rookie, and a healthy Romo we have yet to add anybody to better last year's fiasco.

You're high as **** if you think Dez is just going to walk all over Nnamdi....

True, but this player would have helped.

2. 12 million a year was just not an option for us

Why not?

These say the same thing and I suppose it's good Dallas has 1 dependable producer in this area.

5. NA couldn't cover Dez if his live depended on it.

Remains to be seen.

I guess this is a good train of thought regardless of game outcomes.

1. Now we're not one player closer either.
2. Sure it was. I bet his cap number is less than $6-7 million for the first 2 years.
3. Great defenses still have good secondaries. Name one that didn't. You can't get to the QB every play so the secondary has to do its job as well. Ours is horrible with not much chance of getting significantly better.
4. Ridiculous assertion. Even the best defenses of all time couldn't make the QB run for his life on every play. The secondary has to pull it weigth or the defense as a whole will not be very good.
5. Dumbest statement of the night!

Me too, but for the first time ever I get the feeling I may be switching over to watch real football teams go at it even when Dallas is playing.

Homerism, pettiness, wishful thinking, and jealousy. Congrats, you covered all the bases.

1. Then we need to rebuild period, the core of this team is in their prime now, if we have no intention of competing then why even keep them around when they are at their peak value wise right now. If we don't win it this year or next then we're not going to why delay the rebuilding process and settle for mediocrity?

2. we're paying Newman 8, if 12 is not an option for one of the best in the league then it's just absurd to pay Newman 8

3. We've been saying that for years as we poured money into front 7 and let DBs remain an after thought and every years it comes back and bites us in the butt. Right now our projected starters at safety makes Ball and Sensy look good and the list of available FAs is dwindling down so fast that we'll be lucky to even break even on last year if we don't act now

4. if your DBs can't even cover for 2 seconds then it doesn't matter how good your pass rush is you're going to lose

5. Wishful thinking at best

You do know that we have beaten that "real" football team 4 out of the last 5 times we have played them

Losing Nnamdi is deflating, no question, but it hardly marks defeat.

The Cowboys can still have a successful off season. There remain several good options available in free agency -- options that would satisfy pressing needs -- but Jerry needs to act soon because the market is dwindling.

In my opinion, he should turn his focus to pursuing Cullen Jenkins, and at least inquire into Michael Huff. Brian Waters would be an excellent stopgap at guard if the money is right.

I'm not talking about philly.

Unfortunately we went 6-10 last year...

people want to see improvements and additions to the roster, not just addition by subtraction...

Whats successful? 9-7, 10-6 and out in the 1st round again. Right now, even that is a pipe dream with this roster.

That is the going rate for talented players.

Roman Harper just got paid 8 million a year, and he is below average. Newman is much, much better then him. A player like Stephen Bowen who was a backup DE gets paid around 6 million a year. The money athletes make is crazy.

Nnamdi got paid 15 million a year, not 12. That is almost double what Newman makes.

I'll end thread with this.

Anybody remember who was playing in the secondary for the Giants when they beat the undefeated Pats?

Enough said.
