Enough is enough

its been mediocre for a while now. I dont think hes changed it so much just kept it stable.
even our boy Tony said he was a "culture" coach and Zoners grab that to say ya he's no "X&O" coach
but now ... he's not that either just hate I expect no less

I don't really agree with that. That we can never, ever win with Jerry. I think you can. You just can't win consistently with him. With parity around the NFL you just need to be a good team that gets hot at the right time. We've seen the Cowboys come reasonably close a few times in recent years. I think it can be done. You can overcome him one year.

What can't be done is be New England or Pittsburgh. A consistent winner.
The former is Jerry's entire philosophy as GM. He's said it more than once that he just thinks he needs to get a few of the right pieces in place and then get hot/lucky at the right time.

The irony is that is exactly why we will never be the latter with him (and probably his son) around.

I don't know. I said 9 and 7 at start of season and was criticized. Is this season really a shocker? Can't rest on what you did before.

I think it was the way we lost more than anything.

If you told me we would go 9-7 at the beginning of the year I would get it. Not happy, but sounds reasonable in a parity driven league.

But if you told me we would go through a 3 week stretch in November where we were outscored 92-22? Not to mention another 42-17 curbstomping in week 2 by a mediocre Denver team?

Or we would have an elimination game where the other guys would have more penalty yards than offensive yards and we still lose by 9?

There were weeks this year that this team just got physically whupped. Period. That I totally did not expect, injuries/suspensions or not.

ok lets be honest, break down what Garrett took and what he changed it to, how does that sound.

You break down the team, tell me what Garrett took, and than we ll see where HE changed the culture.

I ll wait.

ok what did he inherit

He was in charge of half of the team that quit. He was the assistant HC and the OC.
then he was half fault? but today he's head coach and head coaches are all the fault?
Head coaches lead and you know it

See I think many of us are in agreement. While A new GM can help change the culture, it may take cleaning house with the coaches to get rid of the Country Club atmosphere. There is no way Garrett can all of a sudden go from cheering your accomplishment as well as your failures, to disciplining the team around him. The OC can't implement his offensive scheme without butt hurting the HC which was suppose to be an X's and O's man. The QB was allowed to pick his poison (sort of speak) when it came to play action pass.... On his second year mind you. While it can be beneficial at times, he should be stripped of such inside the red zone unless it is 3rd down. We are built to run. Stop thinking like a teenager (know it all) and trust your play caller. At least then when we lose it really is his butt on the hot seat instead of him taking one for the QB.

To change our culture it will take one to get the ball rolling, but it may take a tribe to make the change happen. Hence why I am done with the blaming or wishing we could replace so and so. One person alone will never have enough power in Dallas to do it.
