Found this interesting
Defensive EPA (Expected Points Added) measures a defense's performance by how much it reduces an opponent's expected points on any given play, accounting for context like down, distance, and field position.
Question.....how you think OCs will game plan for our D now vs with Parsons on the fieldbut but but he had half of his sacks against 3 teams!!!!
They will have alot more options. They will he able to attack downfield much easier. Long developing plays will be an optionQuestion.....how you think OCs will game plan for our D now vs with Parsons on the field
This.He will get the holding calls in G.Bay that he didnt in Dsllas
Will kill several drives per game that way, then sacks & pressures added on
run at the defense. let the defense prove they can consistently stop the run. w ehave been suspect to outside runs for years now. its going to continue.Question.....how you think OCs will game plan for our D now vs with Parsons on the field
That’s just it. His presence, even when he wasn’t hitting a home run, elevated the entire defensive unit.Just remember, the proof is not in the pudding. the proof of the pudding is in the eating.
So we shall see. I think this is a good opportunity to coach and play better across the whole line.
I've thought of Parsons as a home run hitter. Maybe more of a wild card. Maybe we can get a better "on base percetage" with a more...integrated? group.
Only true of you classify “Primary Pass rusher” as someone playing DE in 4-3 or OLB in 3-4Once upon a time, NFL.com's Bucky Brooks ranked each position's importance from most to least (link). Here were his top five:
Personally, I would switch primary pass rusher and left tackle, but I generally agree with his rankings. General managers have (or should have) a difficult job judging which players to keep and which players to let go. GMs are not perfect. Every decision will not be perfect either. That said, Dallas has
- Quarterback
- Designated Pass Rusher #1
- Left Tackle
- Left Cornerback
- Wide Receiver #1

making those decisions. Kinda puts things into perspective.
Led the league twice in turnovers. That is a huge impact on EPA.Yeah, this smacks of a very misleading stat. Was this team ever #1 in anything defensive related, even with Micah on the field? They had a couple of good years under Quinn, but they were never even close to the best defense in the league even with Micah playing every play.
Brooks made a similar observation:Only true of you classify “Primary Pass rusher” as someone playing DE in 4-3 or OLB in 3-4
An OLB in a 4-3 playing DE who is limited is not as valuable
Bucky Brooks said:Since most signal callers are right-handed, the game's top pass rushers typically align at RDE or ROLB to attack from the back side.
