I see tweet after tweet about this guy from different reporters at camp. Maybe he's got something.

And unlike the Lowber, Holmes, etc, fascinations with potential, this guy seems to be doing it with actual plays in practice.

I'm waiting for Jerry to come out and declare him a future star so that we can release him a month later.

I'm aware. I'm talking about his height in general. A vert won't help you if you're not jumping for the ball. In stride, he has to get a few more steps behind the defender just because he's so short.

Who cares if he's short. He showed last year he can get separation and make plays. If he can get his body in front of the CB, then he can get to the ball. It is what it is. If he sucks in preseason, he gets cut.

The problem with Beasley is that the #5 WR needs to play special teams in order to be active on game day. If he's not the punt returner, then he will probably not play Special Teams. Would they keep a #5 WR in 2013 that is not active on game day when his ceiling is probably a #3 WR at best?

Ya. Beasley, Coale, or the new guy Rogers. Who can play special teams and shows something in preseason, wins that 5th wr spot. Doubt Boys keep 6.

I can't tell how fast he plays. Always leary of college times which I'm assuming this 4.5 is. Doesn't look fast but gets separation. May be one of those guys who runs faster than he looks.

There are rumblings that Dallas could keep 6 WRs.

Beasley has done well in limited action. I think he and Rogers make the 53. Coals can't get healthy PS or gone
Well its too early to tell, especially with rogers, but I tend to agree.

Dez, Miles, Harris, Williams, Beasley, Rogers

I'll wait and hold off on the excitement for Rogers until I see him in a few preseason games at least. Last year, Andre Holmes was the next greatest thing since sliced bread and then he failed his conditioning test and went downhill from there.

Cowboys should go in with 5 receivers and decide between who they want in Beasley, Coale and Rogers(if reports are correct). There's no need to bring in 6 receivers. Just none at all. Especially with Miles, Dez, Harris and Williams. And we have 3 tight ends who are expected to get burn on offense. I'd like to see what Danny Coale simply because we invested a draft pick in him. But if he has nothing than we need to go with the more productive guy who can contribute to this team whether its on special teams or whatever and Beasley is not playing special teams.

Something is up with Miles other than football, just MHO. He is not playing well-give these other guys a try.

Perhaps, but IMO, it's way too early in the TC to be concerned with. Now if Miles is still having difficult time on the field by end of TC then I'd be worried about it but not right now.

Miles Austin here's it from Garrett after lining up incorrectly. That's 5 years ago Garrett says to him.

I think the problem with Miles is that he's a good kid from a good family with a good head on his shoulders, and he got a big check.

I think he wants to play well, but I think he wants to retire healthy, too. Not sure his heart is all the way in it.

I could be wrong. It's just a gut feeling.

They should keep the most talented guys on the 53. If 6 wrs are part of it then so be it. It should be about talent acquisition.

I think you may have a point about this. And the odd thing is that it's not necessarily a condemnation of Austin. It may not even be a conscious though process by him. It happens to people all the time. He's set for life and doesn't need to scape and claw for a spot anymore. The ability to push yourself to the limit after you've already reached that important goal is a rare attribute in most human beings. I'm not saying he's dogging it or intentionally taking it easy, but maybe he doesn't have that fire anymore (because he doesn't need it as much).

This goes beyond sports. Look at musicians after they've "made it" . With success comes great things, but sometimes it's the bad things that made them better artists. It happens. I'm not expecting the Miles from a few years ago anymore, I do think he can still be a threat at the #2 though. Good thing we now have a 'sky's the limit' type in Dez to be our #1.

I think they ultimately go 5 deep at WR. So Beasley's spot is in play here if this Rogers guy is any good. At that point it becomes a matter of who you think can make it to the PS without getting claimed off waivers.
