Texans release of Eric Winston is weird. I know he's not as good as some say, but he's pretty good.

someone must have made the texans an offer they can't refuse...

or they are just stupid....winston is a very solid player.

They're up against the cap, and they have better players they need to resign, but it's still something of a surprise move.

Mark it down: Winston won't be a free agent for very long.

He will be in Miami or Arizona by tomorrow night.
Miami would be smart, sign Winston and free up a need pick in the draft.
Then they can show Manning they have book ins to protect him.

We don't need a tackle, but he's a solid one.

Yea, I expect Miami to go after him.

Didn't he play for Miami U?

can he play guard? :D

Good question? Same with AZ Levi Brown who just got released.

IIRC, Leonard Davis played OT at AZ and switched to G when he came here.

Another question: Is either Winston or Brown better than Free? Free was a major disappointment last year. I wouldn't mind signing either of these two to compete with Free in camp. If Free wins the competition, move either Winston or Brown to G. If Free loses the competition, then either cut Free or move him to backup OT.

They had him for 5.5 for 2 years and he will sign for 4 or 5 averaging at least 7. This was a bad move.
