Rob Ryan will play Ernie Sims this week for #Cowboys 'I tried to convince Al Davis to draft him as a safety w #raiders. Love him'

I thought that they might be envisioning him as a big safety. Not a pure safety, but a safety/LB in some of the money packages (nickel, dime, etc..).

Specifically, I see him playing that nickel LB role that was filled by Barry Church and then by McCray. Last week when McCray was in that role, they used Frampton to fill in for McCray at Safety. Using Sims would allow McCray to stay at Safety in that package.

You mean a Roy Williams? Just give the boy a biscuit! :laugh2:

I can see him in that role he should be more productive than McCRay in this role.

And the quicker we can get Peprah back there instead of McCray, the better off we'll be.

This defense need a big hitter like Roy Williams. I miss having a enforcer type of guy on our D. Roy's big hits used to wake up the defense and you knew receivers were hearing footsteps going across the middle.

Yep, that doofus was one of the all-time great hitters. He didn't even have to be on the run. He just had some way of coiling up his body and exploding into people. Too bad he just gave up after getting paid.
