Exactly. Means nothing about how we will play in the future this year.

If there’s something that bothers me it’s MMs “don’t take the cheese” thing didn’t seem to take.

This is a really talented team, yet one that decided to not show up for a playoff game 11 months ago.

More and more I feel like this teams success is going to be determined by MMs ability to talk them into how much they really want it.

I could truly see it going either way from here.
To win it all, we need to put together 4 great efforts in a row. There is nothing I've seen which leads me to believe this team will do that.

I would argue this was the 2nd highest pre-game-pressure event Dak Prescott & Mike McCarthy have faced this year. The other being Green Bay. Reputations at stake in both contests. They lost at Lambeau to a marginally-mediocre team, and almost lost today to the undisputed worst team in the NFL in what would have been the upset of the year. It seems these "yips," "jitters"...whatever you want to call them...come right from the head coach and lodge within Dak's nervous nature. Not a psychological recipe for success when the going gets genuinely tough. So much talk about cheese, press-clippings, and what-not. They weren't trying to convince us...they were trying to convince themselves.

It tells you nothing about the future if you don't want to see it.

Definitely should have lost that game. This team, for all the stars and great players, always plays down to their opponents level.
It didn't catch them today but it usually does somewhere at an important time where we can't afford that to happen.
Correct, unfortunately they can't see it and no one will tell them, right now they are celebrating thinking yeah no big deal we knew we would win and we did. They need to play with high intensity the entire 60 minutes but no one will instill that work ethic in these prima donnas.

The Cowboys escaped today, but playing down to your competition isn’t a good way to build momentum for the playoffs. I’m still questioning how good the Cowboys really are. Last weeks game wasn’t going very well either until we got all the turnovers in the fourth quarter. The Cowboys still look like a one and done playoff team.

It’s not likely, but not something I’ll dismiss as being possible.

I figured this was going to happen, but a win is a win and will be remembered as such.

What does this game tell us about the future?

Nothing. One game they can be world beaters and the next they look like anyone can beat them.
Nothing has changed.
Hoping for maximum focus moving forward.
What this tells me is that this team, especially Dak are very inconsistent.
I don't know what to expect from this team week to week.
We played down to the Colts level for 3 quarters last week too.
Enjoy the roller coaster I guess.

So how many "trap games" does a team get in a season?

Seems like almost every game. THAT...tells you a lot about us more than anything.

I agree. For years Dallas would find a way to lose this game. It wasn’t pretty but they got the W. 10-3 and how many would have predicted that? I don’t expect them to catch Philly. 13 or 14 wins won’t do it. For me the goal should be closing well and staying healthy. The level of sky is falling around here is ridiculous.

As many as they happen.
It's up to the teams and how they approach it.

Like I said in the post you replied to:
This team can look like world beaters one game and vulnerable the next.

It's all in their focus.

So yeah, there can be tons of trap games if they let them be so.
