If you're Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers, the reward for a strong Week 1 showing is the No. 1 spot in ESPN.com's Power Rankings.

Seattle, which owned the top spot last week, also won in Week 1 (12-7 at Carolina), but overall, our voters (John Clayton, Ashley Fox, Dan Graziano, Jamison Hensley, Mike Sando and Kevin Seifert) were more impressed with San Francisco.

Cowboys

#13 Last week: 18 +5 Bill Callahan kept things short for Tony Romo. Romo threw two-thirds of his passes 5 yards or fewer downfield, his largest percentage in a game since 2008.

Don't take this stuff too seriously but they're fun to watch. Right now I'd put the Cowboys as a little bit better than average and that's where they're ranked. So much depends on injuries, turnovers, at times weather, and matchups.
