In trying to break down Sunday's Cowboys-Eagles game, I've looked at a number of factors. I thought Les Bowen of the Daily News brought up an interesting number this morning. Andy Reid is 6-5 against the Cowboys in the first meeting each season. But he's 8-2 in second meetings.

That's a pretty good indicator that Reid's teams have been better prepared for Dallas in those second meetings. Bowen is picking the Cowboys, by the way.

Not to mention all those "impressive" wins over those 5-11 and 6-10 Cowboy teams over the years.

Interesting stat, but it shouldn't be a surprise.

During the Parcells era, the Cowboys lost every single one of their same-season rematches against teams with winning records. Since then, we're 2-3 in those situations, but one of the wins (vs NYG 2007) was avenged in the playoffs.

Even tho records against those teams are irrelevant, it's applied the last 4 years as well. Since 2006, we're 3-1 against them in the first meeting, and 0-3 against them the second time around. And two of those games were at Texas Stadium.

I think those stats go to show that Andy Reid tends to get his teams rolling towards the end of the year. And it doesn't hurt that they have had the better QB for most of the decade. Do they have better QB now? I don't think so.

I think we're going to uncork a pounding on Philly.
Can you all feel it coming?

A large part of that had to do with Jim Johnson.
I'm hoping that too. We've scored 7, 6, and 6 points in the last 3 same-season rematches against them.

This game (or pair of games) will be used as the measuring sticks for coaches and players alike, on both sides.
