My fear is the realization that Cooks and Gilmore are just simply on the downturn of their careers and may not contribute in helping our team take the next step.

I had hopes that Gilmore, Cooks, Mazi, Overshown and Deuce would be the difference makers this year……we still have a lot of season yet but I’m not seeing the progress I had hoped for.

Obviously, Overshowsns injury fall into a different category .
I never had hopes of OVershown and Mazi. They are rookies. Not top 10 picks. Gilmore has been fine. The best #2 we've had around here in a long time. Cooks has been disappointing but I just don't see him getting the touches too concerned with giving it to Gallup.

Gallup is what he is, but I have noticed it this year plenty, there is a lack of separation. Honestly think we got Cooks on the decline and we are not using him correctly, for being such a burner most the time he is well covered, yes some of that is because of play design.

Yea, we went from 2 number ones, to a non existent 2, and a player that complimented the 2 others well. He is still doing fine, with subpar/backup qb play.

I agree that Gilmore and Cooks may be on the downside, like Anthony Barr was when they acquired him.

Mazi will be okay. I think Overshown will too because what made him good was not just his athletic ability. He showed some fire in his style of play. I am not high on Deuce. I think his abilities are limited by the length of his legs.

But I would also agree that they are not using Cooks correctly. In fact, I don't think they use Gallup right either. He is a one or two trick pony so that's what they should use him for. Tolbert should be running those slants, not Gallup.

agreed. MG is a drop waiting to happen. Cooks hasn't gotten many opportunities yet. And if you sign a 4.3 guy, can we have him run more than 5 yard routes please.
It’s like they are scared to use their speed. Turpin scores a touchdown and he never gets another chance….
