Agreed about FS need, we might want to draft Merriweather. T.O. could be trouble this year because he knows this is his last year with the team.

Romo? I think he is effective in the pocket, if he doesn't have to bounce around trying to escape pressure because the lineman can't hold blockers at bay after one sec. All the naysayers will eat thier words me thinks.:horse:

umm did you watch romo, he threw for more yards outside the pocket than in it and more than anyone else in the league outside the pocket.

Thats why the giants said after they lost to us that he was one of the best qbs they played all season because he was so good throwing the ball on the move.

Enjoy the hatred guys. Let it warm your heart and make you smile. Whining about it deprives you of too much. Embrace the hatred.

They talked about TO leading the league in drops BUT never mentioned that he also lead the league in TD's too. All negativity from those clowns..

Maybe, but he was constantly dropping the ball at critical times.

True. However teams determined the best thing to do is not allow him to get outside so instead of pinching in they maintained outside containment and with pressure coming up the middle it put Romo like any other QB in a bind. Hopefully the addition of Davis will give Romo a pocket to work out of.

Unless they broke out the Urim and the Thummim, I really don't care. ;)

Never thought I'd hear the Urim and Thummim talked about on this forum.

Good obscure reference lol.

I'm like an onion. Not in the sense that I have many layers, but in the sense that I smell like crap and make people cry.

Well spoken. The Cowboys struggled up the middle in pass protection all of last season. That struggle is one of the reasons Bledsoe's career ended as it did. Romo's ability to move worked for a while until the outside containment forced him to try and make moves inside the pocket. Hopefully the addition of Davis for Rivera will help that situation, but I admit Kosier still concerns me against the "middle pressure." Kosier struggled in recognizing blitz packages and did get pushed backwards on occasion. We should expect to see more of the same pressure up the middle this season.

I agree and I think it will be interesting the blocking schemes that will be put in place by Garrett as well as personnel groupings. Will we see a great role for a FB in the system that could help provide protection? I will say I think protection may be better in large part because you give help to Kosier side but you can't do much when both guards are have problems within a game. I also think that while Kosier at times had problems overall I think he did a decent job for us

On the other hand, if teams repeated blitz up the middle, that will open up the underneath route for Owen, Crayton and Witten. Romo needs to realize that become the hot route and take advantage of that. If our RB can catch like the way Emmitt used to, then our RBs become a huge weapon in the underneath dump off pass.

It's really usless waiting for a great prediction from anyone. No one really knows what's going to happen, I wouldn't concern myself with anyone's opinions of the Cowboys, or what they may or may not do.
