ESPN Broaddus: Scout's Eye: Cowboys-Vikings review

Hmmm...well it was reported that it was not miles that go flagged for the penalty.

But since that time it seems it is being reported that the coaches don't want some (or maybe all) celebrations.

What to do...What to do.

Of course. Why would I have a problem for him doing something completely 100% legal and within the rules?

"The problem that the defensive coaches have to have with this is that Scandrick told Williams what was going to happen before the play, and he failed to execute, the result was a Vikings touchdown and a 7-7 game."

I don't think that this was the first time the LB's dropped the ball, leaving Scandrick stuck between 2 receivers. The other was the Olsen TD vs Chicago. That time it was either Brooking or James that faked a blitz and didn't back into coverage or didn't recognize Olsen's place since he came off the ball untouched like Camarillo did. i dunno, i may have read all that wrong

Lmao @ DCF labeling someone else's opinion as 'useless'.

Who promoted your opinion to anything of significance? You have a severely inflated opinion of yourself and your contributions to Cowboys fandom....which may help to explain many of your views concerning the team you 'cover'....if that term even applies.

This thread was quite enjoyable until you chimed in with your crap. Why don't you spend less time labeling fans that don't agree with you and kissing the ***** of real analysts....perhaps you could use that time to get better at what you do. Just a thought.

I really don't mean this to be a personal attack (although I doubt you'll see it that way), but rather a simple critique. This thread is quite illustrative of the differences between yourself and professionals like Broadus. His response to CL was professional and impersonal. Yours? Not so much. Telling....and perhaps something to think about.

Because with the Cowboys luck, next time Miles probably falls down after doing the leap frog, in which case it is a penalty. Either that or he sprains an ankle. This team is Exhibit 1 that Murphy's law exists.

CL is one of our very best posters. You're way, way, out on a limb all by yourself here, dcf.

And. Who needs to have other out on the limb with them? I guess you.

Why are so many people on here looking for others to get behind them as if that means anything.

I could care less if you agree with me. Or if anyone on here agrees with me.

CL is never going to tell the media to calm down when they go overboard about how great the Cowboys are. At those times he's fine with them and jumps right in with them in cheering.

Sigh.

DC, how many mistruths can you attribute to me in one thread?

That I think Jason Williams is great -- wrong. I have no strong feelings toward Jason Williams one way or another. With him being from a tiny school, I never saw him play and I never said he'd be anything great. He's a project great athlete who might not ever be a good player, and right now it's not looking good for him.

That I'm just a homer -- wrong. I'm as down on this team as anyone. Like Mike Fisher said years ago, when a team goes 12-4, it seems right to have about 75% of the press be positive. When it's 4-12, about 75% negative. When 8-8, about 50-50. What I think it stupid is when a team is 13-3 or 11-5 and most of the coverage is negative. This year has obviously been more like a 4-12 year so far so I have no problem with criticism.

That I had something against this article -- wrong again. I clearly said that I was talking about BB's overall radio work lately.

I'm sure Bryan is very grateful for your showing up to defend him from evil internet attackers with an opinion, though. It's not like he's a big boy and can stand up for himself. So bravo to you for once again coming to the rescue.

You said the dude was off the rails recently.

It's more like the Cowboys are off the rails recently. But just like Wade you like to deflect that negative reality onto someone in the media as if they are acting in a biased manner.

Funny how Broaddus was down on Leonard Davis when he played like crap. The man plays an ok game against the Vikings and Broaddus gives him credit for bouncing back with a good performance after being benched. Would you mention that in his recent radio commentary? Of course not. You just want to point out the times when anyone in the media talks about the Cowboys playing like crap and saying that's all they ever do.

You deflect. You try and entice people into hating the messenger who is just giving you the story and reality of what's going on.

Evidently it is fine according to the NFL.

And personally I think Wade is a good coach. Just not a good coach for this team because there is too many distractions and his style doesn't counter the circus that surrounds Dallas enough to keep guys focused.

So then say it.

Next Monday when someone scores a TD say you want Miles to run into the End Zone like a nine year old and leap frog the player.

You brought nothing to the topic of this thread.

Zip. Zero. Nothing.

You didn't talk about Jason Williams at all.

You didn't talk about the Cowboys.

All you did was come in here and address how you feel about another poster.

How the **** are you making this a better discussion while I am not?

Explain.

Maybe if you hear it from Miles you will understand why it's a bad idea...

http://app.quickblogcast.com/files/1/3/2/0/2/128698-120231/miles_takesblame.mp3

So he gets why it was a stupid move.

He understands that after having Colombo do something stupid and it affect the game it was assinine to come out and put yourself in any kind of situation that could possibly have the same result was a bad move.

So why don't you?

What happens if they do it again next week and the ref determines that it was premeditated and therefore it was again two players setting up an excessive celebration?

Then you will be back here singing a different tune.

Miles Austin's job isn't to act like a 9 nine year old. He isn't awarded any points for helping out his teammates celebrate one simple TD in the first quarter of a game which is far from decided yet.

Lucky for us Miles is the person actually in the situation and not you.

Sounds like if it was you and Roy scored a TD against the Giants you would run up and leap frog him all over again.

Like the poster said above. What if he falls down? What if he gets hurt? Wht if and more what if's. How about he just goes to the sideline and gets ready to catch more passes. I am sure if he catches enough passes in the game and the Cowboys win he can find time to do some serious celebrating.

He has to say PC things to please the soccer moms like you who put a lot of stock into such things.

It's like blaming Miles for getting a speeding when he was driving the speed limit. How is it "stupid" to drive the speed limit and not break the law?

To me stupid is blaming someone for a crime that they never committed, having proof that that they never committed a crime, having been cleared of all charges and still calling them "stupid" for nothing.

You "could" fall down doing any number of things. He could trip over his feet and fall down just handing the ball to the ref. The refs could say he "coordinated" a high five. If the NFL refs are ******** and hellbent on punishing the Cowboys for made violations that aren't even in their ruleboook, you can't stop them. They can always just make up something else.

Like I said ... if any Cowboy fans got on their soap box and preached against Michael Irvin's first down dance, or Alvin Harper's goalpost slam, or Emmitt Smith's mugging for the camera, or Butch Johnson's dances ... they have a right to complain when this team *gasps* shows emotion after a big touchdown.

If you stood by and lapped it up with a spoon, you're a big huge hypocrite.

So providing the video of Scandrick telling Williams and the Kleinsasser play where Williams loses his assignment with the audio over it added nothing to the convseration?

You are in same boat as Tomson as always.

You guys never add much. You would not even be in this thread if I wasn't involved in it. We get it you don't like me. At least add something to the topic. Save the drivel for a PM to me.

NO. The obvious thing is for Miles not to speed again. Duh.

Yeah, he's to a better chance of falling down or getting hurt while...

Wait.

HE'S NOT EVEN THE PERSON WHO SCORED THE TD!!!

:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Why would anything Irvin or the past players did have any bearing on what's done today? If those rules were in place then and Irvin was flagged we would be having same conversation about Irvin being stupid.

You make zero sense.

Fanatic, you are like a Platoon Leader I once had. He had even served in 'Nam. But he didn't grasp the concept of intimidation and insult doesn't lead to the top, but to looking like a racoon when lit up from abuse.

Maybe you can someday write a book on how to insult your way to become a cherished media member. Maybe you can run to be a judge as well....and then govern by law.

Let's recap where you have differentiated on an analysis involving the Cowboys/Viking game.

"All you heathen Cowboys rose colored glass wearers bow down..."

Care for a sig bet that the Cowboys DON'T reach nine wins. I bet that they DO....and it does have something to do with the Viking loss. But an improved direction from that game.

Speed again? He was never speeding the first time. He was completely and utterly following the letter of the law.

Do we convict people who follow the letter of the law because they "could've committed a crime"? I guess in your world we do.

Because Miles didn't do anything any more against the rules on Sunday than what Irvin did back then.

EVERYTHING HE DID WAS 100% LEGAL AND WITHIN THE RULES !!!!!!

It's fans like you who claim "Well, I don't know why players even celebrate. You haven't done anything !! You just scored a touchdown" who were the first ones standing up and cheering when Irvin did his first down celebrations after a 4 yard catch. Hypocrites.
