Thats why I like ESPNnews. Its more highlights, facts, press confrences.

I remember ESPN was interviewing Mark Cuban, and like the 2nd question they asked him was " What would you do if your star player compared his coach and his grandmother?" refering to Owens

Dont get me wrong, Owens has a lot wrong with him, but they took every move he made and ran with it

Apparently you haven't seen the Quinn pics of him "cupping" other men's junk...

It's disturbing in it's frequency...

That's not Brady Quinn.

The very fact that ESPN has Skip on as a daily ranter tells you everything that station is about.
They no longer care about the truth and real sports journalism. It's all about sensationalism and crackpot opinions of slack-jawed, mountain dew drinkin..mullet morons like Skippy.
Skippy was accusing Aikman of being gay....anyone sense the irony in that?
Is Skippy married?

I'm surprised we didn't see the, "Skip are YOU gay" question.

HAHAHA..:laugh2:

Once I saw Charro trying to rub up against skip bayless when they were hosting cold pizza outside the Ceasars palace in Vegas, and he looked so uncomfortable... He was probably visualizing Tom Cruise and him on the beach to get him by the whole fiasco.

Seriously though I would have gone with her to my room

There are some reporters out there I just don't care much about. Some I just don't like for the most part. Some that are 99% shock jocks for the ratings. For example Galloway and now LBOH could fit into that category I just described.

However the difference between Galloway and LBOH is that every so often they drop the shock drop persona and actually write a well thought out article even if I don't agree with their takes. I have never seen that with Bayless.

If I was single I would not. She may be old as dirt but she still looks good for her age. Plus she just looks like a fun person.

You (younger) single guys dont think Charro is a bit in the grandmother stage now?

And back on topic, Skip has always been on TV for the shock factor, either ESPN is using fabricated or exaggerated stories to attract ratings because plain old highlight shows werent getting it done for them.

Ken (Tarzana, CA): What made you think that Steve Walsh was a better QB prospect than Troy Aikman?

sn2.gif
Skip Bayless: Jimmy Johnson. He loved Walsh, his U of Miami QB, and drafted him with the first pick in the supplemental after taking Aikman with the first pick of the regular draft. Johnson's Cowboys won one game that first year -- with Walsh at QB. Jimmy didn't think Aiikman was all that football smart and didn't love his intangibles. Shortly after trading Walsh for a 1,2 and a 3, Jimmy got so frustrated with Aikman that he said, "He was a loser in college (at UCLA, where he couldn't beat USC) and he'll always be a loser in the pros."
Obviously, Norv Turner came in and turned Aikman around, and Jimmy now has two Super Bowl rings to show for it.

This is not true at all. Jimmy Johnson tried to get Aikman to come to Miami before he joined the Sooners. That didn't happen. Johnson tried to get Aikman when he left the Sooners for UCLA, but Aikman didn't go there because it was the period that the Sooners and Miami were trying to win championships and he and Berry were very close and didn't want to do that to him.

When Jimmy Johnson was with Gil Brandt after Aikman's Pro Day, Brandt ask Johnson what he though. his reply was. "If I had Aikman at Miami, we would have went undefeated and won every game by 50 points."

Johnson wouldn't have drafted someone he though was "a loser" with the first overall pick in the draft.

It's called plastic surgery. She has to be pushing 70 by now.

But I do agree it looks like she'd be fun to hang with.....if you can understand her. :D

Bayless got the gay crap info from one of Switzer's coaches who was part of Switzer's efforts to discredit Aikman cause Switzer believed Aikman had enough influence with Jerry Jones to get it done. Eventually this coach was "forced to move on" & Switzer helped get him the head coaching gig at Oklahoma. Aikman knew Switzer was behind the Bayless stuff & Aikman also believed Deion Saunders was part of the effort to spread totally false info that Aikman was a racist and didn't want to throw to black WRs--Michael Irvin must have gotten a laugh out of that along some of the other WRs on the team. Aikman actually confronted Saunders about it in front of several other Cowboys. So you can understand Aikman's attitude towards Switzer, but despite these personal problems, Aikman's attitude towards Switzer was more a result of Switzers lax discipline which Aikman believed contributed to failure win big in 94 which continued into 95 season.

For example, just before team was ready to practice Switzer and others were sitting around talking about Irvin's sexual exploitations to the extent that Switzer finally called off the practice. Aikman was ffurious as you can imagine as well others players like Moose, Darren, etc.

Don't know how much of above info is still available. I found out a lot of stuff several years ago when I was helping my grand nephew do a book report on his hero -- Troy Aikman. Bought some of Aikman's books & did a search on various newspaper archives. Amazing the stuff that turned up. There was even an article while Aikman was attending UCLA in late 80s that he had to return to Oklahoma to give a dispositive re huge ticket scandal ongoing at Oklahoma. Aikman wasn't happy he had to give a deposition and resented it and any fall out which might besmirch his clean record. So Aikman already had a latent unhappiness with Switzer even before Switzer was hired by Jerry Jones.

Aikman has always said publicly he and Switzer got along fine and Switzer was a nice guy but then Aikman rarely would say anything negative about most people cause he was deeply aware he was the face of the franchise at a time when the Cowboys needed all the clean faces they could muster.

I guess times have changed. I have heard a few interviews with Barry Switzer recently. He always talks highly of Aikman. He was asked about Brady Quinn and he responded with "He's no Troy Aikman". Barry obviously recruited Troy to OU and also helped him get his transfer to UCLA. I don't believe anything that comes from Skip Bayless. He makes his living just trying to tear people down. If you see an article or an interview of him praising someone, just wait because he is preparing to tear them down in his next book.

That is why I don't like Atkins Diet eating punk *** and the alleged Johnson quote, about Aikman being a loser is totally false because if we remember correctly when Jimmy, went to Aikman's Pro Day, back in 1989 to see him throw the football he said that "If I had Aikman, at Miami we would go 24-0", raving about how accurate he was with the football this is the same fool that said Steve Walsh, was a better QB than Aikman and that shatters any credibility that he has as a so-called journalist.
