Moss is better. He is the best receiver to ever play.
But let me qualify that statement. His the most gifted natural receiver to ever play. IF he had on half Rice's work ethic, it would have translated to the field through out his career.

As far as his abilities, they are boundless. I remember thinking when he first came into the league that I'd never seen a person more perfectly crafted/sculpted to play WR.

6-4 200 is as fast and quick as D. Sanders probably faster.
Best body controll I've ever seen.
His ability to stop quick is even better than his ability to start.
The most uncoverable player I've seen. No one comes close.

Nightmare in the open field with the ball.

Best nose for the ball and sense of timing I've ever seen.

Tremendous hands, just plucks the ball, never double clutches or drops it.

Owens is just a race horse. Plain and simple. Unbelievable pure athlete.
Fastest and quickest guy I've seen at his size. 6-3 230.

Not quit as uncoverable as Moss, but next best thing. Stronger, tougher to jam than Moss.

As good as Owens is down the field he's probably best used on routes where he catches the ball within 10 yards of LOS. This way his strength and tackle breaking ability come into play.

Owens just isnt a natural receiver, he wasnt born to play it like Moss was.

Whats funny is I always felt these guys were the perfect complement for each other. Moss excels outside the hash marks and Owens inside. Even though I think Moss is better, Owens is actually harder to take out of a game because of his ability to play in the slot between the hash marks.

Its a shame our owner didnt make a play for Moss.
We'd be unstoppable.
But even Jerry doesnt have enough sack to team up Moss with Owens!:D
#1 i agree that moss is better than owens and in this era of football
#2 to say a guy is the best ever i don't agree. the guy's work ethic has been challenged while in minn. and oakland.

Wow ..... thats some man crush you have on Moss.

My opinion is he is not even close to being a Jerry Rice or Michael Irvin.
jerry rice>randy moss>michael irvin

For 1 game and you know your going to get the best the player has to offer would you still take Rice over Moss?

IMO i'd take Moss and Michael Irvin over Jerry on their best day.

Jimmy (Washington D.C.): Please answer this one Mort. Do you think the Skins have what it takes to surprise Dallas come mid-november as long as the Skins are relatively healthy and at the very least get a wild card birth this year?? Hook it up Mort please!

sn2.gif
Chris Mortensen: (11:40 AM ET ) I think there's a chance of that. Jason Campbell will have a year's worth of starts under his belt by them. The Skins' defense is improved. I just wonder about the Skins' explosiveness on offense.

Man... these guys in DC just don't give it a rest.

Most seasons, it's kind of hard to tell who will win that matchup. This year though, being honest, I don't see any way Washington keeps up with Dallas.

Our defense will be really hitting its stride by then and not only will Ellis be a full year removed from his injury then... but Tank will be here playing and our 3 and 4 man defensive lines will be hard on all those backup OL they have.

Plus, the Giants showed what happens to that Commanders D if they have to spend a lot of time on the field... they fold. Our offense will wear their butts out.

I don't see how they keep it very close unless there's a factor we don't know about right now.

Between TO and Moss... assuming they're both motivated to play?

I'd have to pick Moss. TO is definately a great one, but Moss has those hands. The guy just doesn't drop anything when he "wants to play". He just has such terrific hands.

TO can drop one here and there and he doesn't go up and get the ball like Moss does. TO more muscles the DB out of the way and Moss just goes up where very few DBs can play and takes the ball.

Moss.

Unforunatley for us and everyone else... it looks like Moss "wants to play" this year and will be a force in every game. I have to say it one more time... I knew it was a mistake to let Moss go to the Pats. :bang2:

The move I never understood was, why did San Diego not take a risk at try to get Moss?

LT, Gates, Moss.

Lets not forget that Brady is throwing to Moss and
Romo is throwing to TO.

Romo is playing great but he is not a great QB yet... Brady is already.

Clearly that is helping Moss more than Romo is helping TO.

I think Moss is a more explosive WR, but TO is the better WR overall if you consider blocking, going over the middle, etc.
Exactly! Running go routes all day doesn't make you a great wide out. Has anyone ever seen Moss go across the middle into traffic and deal with the big boys that dwell there? He won't!

You make out like the Cowboys could have stopped him from going to the Patriots.

True. But thats one thing I never understand. Teams unwilling to trade when they are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Raiders will be rebuilding for a few years while the Chargers are contending.

They might have had to overpay. Its wierd that Seattle gave up D. Jackson to San Francisco.

gotta love how he avoided answering the question about the Pat's opponents.

he first defends his media pals by saying that they are not talking about our opponents' lousy records (load of BS)

then goes right to the talk about Brady and Moss vs Romo and TO

not a surprise really, but is it just me who is getting sick and tired of how far ESPN and other sports media outlets have their lips permanently attached to New England's butt?

Bristol, CT is in NEW ENGLAND. Most people in that town are NE Patriot, Boston Red Sox, Bruins and Celtics fans.

I must admit growing up here in the early 70's Bobby Orr was my favorite player when I played hockey.

Never with Norv as coach would that work. Norv coached Moss (pretty sure) in Oakland and they didn't get along at all, either if I remember correctly. Even if Norv hadn't coached him... common sense says don't try to coach Moss with Norval.

Not saying anything about the Cowboys... Just that the NFL in general will suffer because it will make New England very difficult to beat. Someone with a lot of picks should have tried to at least outbid them. At least I wish they would have. :)

That too. Very good point.

I agree. When both where in their prime, I always felt Moss was better. This year I think Moss is still better. He creates the same, if not more space than T.O. for other WRs. And with Moss, you can take 1 or 2 shots downfield per quarter, and probably wind up with some TDs.

I don't think there is much seperation between the 2

only difference is that Moss is better in the deep passing game while TO is better in the intermediate passing game

Not overall but on his best day vs Rice and Irvins best day Moss wins.

do you "guarantee" this? : )

if so then moss has never had his best day. irvin played 100% of the time, moss when it's "right" for him. even when it's right, while he's a good to top flight WR, he ain't no irvin. if he were truly one of the best in the game he'd not go team hopping in prime years.
