IRVING, Texas – Christmas came early for the Dallas Cowboys on Saturday. With the Washington Commanders beating the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys can clinch the NFC East and a playoff berth with a win Sunday against the Indianapolis Colts at AT&T Stadium. The Cowboys have chances at having homefield advantage or a first-round bye in the playoffs if they win their final two games. They close the season Dec. 28 at the Commanders. For a team that has lost three straight Week 17, winner-take-all, NFC East championship games, the chance to cement their first playoff appearance since 2009 with a win in Week 16 – or any week – was something few expected at the beginning of the season.
