OXNARD, Calif. – The Dallas Cowboys’ roster stands at 89 after punter Cody Mandell and running back Ben Malena were waived. Malena suffered a quadriceps injury that would have kept him out for the rest of the preseason. If he clears waivers, he will revert to injured reserve. In all likelihood, the Cowboys will reach an injury settlement with Malena and have not closed the idea on him returning later in the season. “He’s done a really good job up to this point,” coach Jason Garrett said.
