I hope so. I think it's in both his and the team's best interests going forward.

I don't think Free was all that bad this season. He got off to a little bit of a slow start, but after that I thought he was fine and played very well down the stretch. To me, it's just more about his longevity and who his eventual replacement will be. I would still like us to keep Leary that way we have some flexibility if Green doesn't work out.

No, my comment wasn't intended to be a slight towards Free. I think he had a fine season. But, given age, cost, and the third round draft investment, I think it would be better long term if Green proves the Cowboys right and takes over the role. Free could be the veteran swing tackle option for a year with cap relief in 2017 when the restructure his deal or move on.

This OL has me thinking the long term outlook for the team is very good. Watch how they are able to manipulate the cap going forward by restructuring and extending players that have long careers, don't miss much time due to injury, and are able to maintain a high level of play well into the future. Tron will probably get restructured this year. Soon Fred will get a second contract and then future years will offer opportunity to restructure/extend, then comes Martin, then comes Collins. This is a very smart strategy. IMO

Honestly, and I say this while loving the guy, I think Frederick could have been a lot better. He was great when asked to pull and/or get to the next level. That's where he really shines. When asked to read the defense, and make the blocking adjustments and line calls, however, he seemed a little lost at times. Too many times he would help the wrong guard and leave gaping lanes for twists, stunts and blockers. I am not worried about the guy and think he is a stud, but for this line to take the next step, he needs to be better in those situations.

Also, they really need to work on Tyron and those inside moves. His kick is so good and he gets out of his stance so fast, it's almost a hindrance at this point, because DE's are able to jump inside of him.

"Things" went to crap, but the OL was as solid as ever.

Yeah I hear some complain about our OL as well and that's nonsense. Our offensive line gave up the least amount of pressures in the league and we turned a back that was considered a bust into a borderline pro bowler. Our team YPC was also near the best in the league.

I think Green is the OL version of Matt Johnson. Why do we do this so often???

What team doesn't miss no sure things in that third rd. He is far from done so let the soup stir some more.
