The Cowboys lost two starters in free agency from their defensive line in DeMarcus Ware and Jason Hatcher last week. One projected starter, Anthony Spencer, who played in one game last season due to knee injuries, remains on the free-agent market. The Cowboys are still interested in working a deal for Spencer as he recovers from microfracture surgery. Spencer's representatives believe he'll be ready for the start of the 2014 season while Cowboys officials are optimistic it could happen.

Move on. It's been said he can barely walk comfortably. Let him be a Commander/Giants problem. Plus he's already 30.

I just don't understand why Dallas would want him back. Focus on Melton, Allen and select a couple of solid dline players from the draft. It does not make any sense to resign him.

I wouldn't pay much more than league minimum and I would pup him.

I'm open to having him go to camp and proving himself on a small contract with incentives built in. If he can prove he is back great if not you cut him coming out of camp. There will be 80 guys going to camp yet only 53 who will make it so Spencer getting a lower contract is no more of a risk than many of the so called camp fodder who will be at training camp. Only differance is if he can prove he is back then Dallas benifets if not we lose nothing

What's it going to be then, eh?

He is taking his physical for the Giants right now. Should be interesting what they come up with.

I agree. I know Spencer agent has said he will not be ready to go until Training camp so it will come down to what NY thinks his chances are to fully heal

After spending $20 million for what amounted to one good season he should come in and play for free. assuming his knee is fine, it remains to be seen how good is he without Ware on the other side commanding double teams.

I think that's the key..

no Ware..

no Spencer.

These guys were drafted and in completely different defenses..

..than the one they are actually going to play now.

Between transition and rehab still to come..

..vet minimum only.

But of course some team will step up and pay him like they did with Ratliff.

So let them.
