Cowboys to take off pads for rest of week
OXNARD, Calif. -- Having worn full pads for 13 of their first 15 training-camp practices, the Dallas Cowboys will wear shells in today’s workout as well as Friday, according to coach Jason Garrett.
Garrett said the change has always been part of the plan and is not reflective in the number of injuries the Cowboys have sustained this summer. When the Cowboys practiced Tuesday against the St. Louis Rams, 25 players were missing either a part or all of practice.
When the Cowboys return to work next week after Sunday's preseason game against the San Francisco 49ers, they have only three practices left in Oxnard, California, before returning home.
