Cowboys' training camp practices at The Star open from Aug. 21-29

FRISCO, Texas -- Dallas Cowboys fans will be able to attend training-camp practice at The Star from Aug. 21-29 after the team completes its obligations in Oxnard, California.

The Cowboys are scheduled to leave California on Aug. 18 before their third preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts, however, a time and date of that game has not been finalized.

The Cowboys moved into The Star last year, but the accompanying shops and restaurant that are part of the 91-acre site will not open until June. The Cowboys were unable to hold any open practices at their former practice home, Valley Ranch, because of a lack of parking and stands.

I will be taking a couple days off from work to attend. Loved going to the practices when they held camp in San Antonio!

I have to figure out my time off, but I am definitely going to try and make it out there. Being from Toronto, it may be difficult. Anything for my Cowboys though

With 4 pre-season games, training camp is already too long, IMO. I don't like it when my team plays this additional game. It's just an opportunity for injury. Not liking preseason games anyway, this additional game is scheduled when the team is so raw and untrained in the ways of what the team will eventually be. It gives me no insight in what the team we will eventually be once the season starts. How many of the starters will play and for how long? I don't really want my QB exposed to that situation.

I understand how the average fan would be excited to see a game but it's a not ready for prime time product on the field; a sloppy undisciplined exhibition on the gridiron. I like that they get more training because of the extra game but the game itself, I don't enjoy.

I will be at the Star to take in some of training camp there.

I'm still in favor of going straight from the draft to training camp. May, June and July just take to damn long when you are waiting on football again!

When are they getting rid of this California training camp? They should be practicing full time at the STAR.
