Sean Lee's deal should be done soon
July, 22, 2010 Jul 227:38PM CTEmail Print Comments By Tim MacMahonIRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys are confident that they'll complete the signings of their draft picks before training camp opens Saturday.

First-round receiver Dez Bryant's deal is done, leaving second-round linebacker Sean Lee as the team's only pick. Cowboys vice president Stephen Jones, fresh off getting Bryant to become the first first-rounder to agree to terms this year, doesn't anticipate the completion of Lee's contract being a concern.

“I’ll be very surprised if we don’t have something done with Sean as well,” Jones said. “I think it’s real important that Sean sees his opportunities as well. We’re working on him as we speak, and I’ll be very surprised if he misses anything.”

Bryant signing first really hurts Lee's ability to hold out too. Pretty much have to sign what you're offered now.

And you have to think that Dez will get the "team player" label now, or 1st, instead of Lee, who pretty much builds his reputation on, "taking one for the team". This will definitely spur Sean on to get signed.

:hammer:

Lee will likely sign tomorrow and then we're good to go. No drama and none in the forseeable future, at least until Roy Williams drops a pass in practice, and SportsCenter will lead with "Trouble in Big D!?!?!?!"

You can't have the 1st round pick already signed and you NOT be in camp as the 2nd round pick... Smart money is on Lee being signed by late tonight or Friday.

The big thing is that with him being the only one left he is left with whatever money is still available in the pool.

thats right, with whats left in the pool now, lee has to take it, thats something players forget now and then, how much is in the pool

remember james marten, he held out, missed camp some, and didnt get as much as he thought because he was the last player to sign;

Lee the last one standing

Now that Dez Bryant has agreed to a five-year, $11.8 million deal, second-round linebacker Sean Lee is the lone draft choice still without a deal. But Stephen Jones, the team's executive vice president, said Thursday night that he will be surprised if Lee isn't at the first practice Saturday afternoon.

"I’ll be very surprised if we don’t have something done with Sean as well," Jones said. "I think it’s real important. Sean sees his opportunities. We’re working on him as we speak. I’ll be very surprised if he misses anything."

That was my first thought also. There is just only so much salary cap space left.

With this franchise, and you come in as advertised, there shouldn't be too long and that dreamed about career contract will be in his future soon enough. He has some growing up in terms of football before he is even worth that sort of worry with contract. His dream of Camelot will have to match a direct comparison with Chuck Howley.

TO had the real hands of stone, so the press doing anything about one of Roy's actual strengths, just ain't going to phase this 'dogface' at least...

Sean's just doing what he always does........letting everyone else take as much as they want and being happy with what's left over. What a team player! :)

Why has Sean Lee not signed yet?

Why does Sean Lee hate America?

Why does Sean Lee want The Beeeler to hurt him?

Sean Lee doesn't exactly seem like the hold out type.
