the Cowboys were his pick for "breakthrough team in 2009". he said the talent has been there the past few seasons and now they got rid of the bs and can get back to being focused on football.
Nobody is satisfied. They (media) can critique either way and many in here will blow a gasket regardless.
I personally feel that Carter's view of the Cowboys is fairly unbiased and in my opinion, sounds about right.
Man, this thing could really turn around now that the drama has been cut loose from this team. The drama surrounding this team didn't just happen over night, causing a fracture throughout the fanbase. It has been building for years.
In my opinion, lots of arrows point in Terrell Owens direction, but not all of the arrows are aimed at T.O. This started when Roy Williams was drafted out of Oklahoma. He was the 'super kid' safety coming out of the draft. He blossomed quickly, made a name for himself throughout the NFL as a talented and fearless safety with a 'lights out mentality', a label he touted since his Sooner days. But a few seasons later, the highly paid (and re-paid) safety showed signs of losing interest, lacking heart, and his tackling and cover skills immediately took a nose dive. Enjoy Cincinatti.
Greg Ellis is due some arrows. His constant offseason whining about needing a new contract, dissappointment towards the Cowboys for wanting to draft youth and talent (Spencer) has been played like a broken record. Thank you Greg for your time and effort, but it was time to part ship two years ago.
Tank Johnson. Now there is overrated at its finest. He talked and talked, but rarely, if ever backed it up. See ya Tank.
Next, Anthony Henry. Team guy. Worked hard, but always injured it seemed. Henry had his moments, but I believe age is rearing its ugly head. Take care.
Pacman Jones. Nuff said.
Chris Canty, you've said enough since you left. You probably had most of us fooled into thinking you were all about team, but you've disproved all of that in less than 3 months since joining the Giants. A team chalked full of **** talkers. Thanks, but no thanks. Thank you Giants for overpaying for an average 3-4 DE.
The change we've witnessed this offseason is a breath of fresh air. Cris Carter's comments are definitely capable of coming true. The Dallas Cowboys could be a breakthrough team in 2009. Why not?
