Dak's pass to Witten was much better than the Williams throw! Surrounded by Raiders.

Tweet from a guy who fancies himself a QB guru:
Dak Prescott's Ceiling is Tom Brady or Peyton Manning if he develops a Touch on his passing

Agree?

Conversation w him:
Jerry Jones is the type of Owner who would trade Dak Prescott for a Top 5 Pick in the draft and grab a QB... I wouldn't blame him either

Dak Prescott's Ceiling is Tom Brady or Peyton Manning if he develops a Touch on his passing but QBs in upcoming draft Potential through roof

Can Dak become a perfect Mechanical QB? Or will he always just be 5-10QB in the NFL? Or roll dice for a Top 5 QB? Jerry that kinda Risky

Me:
If that's his ceiling, then why wouldn't you blame Jerry for trading him? You're also wrong about Jerry being a risky owner

Him:
Not many QBs reach their ceiling. Next draft has some QBs with amazing potential, so if Jerry was risky i wouldn't blame him.

Me:
Drafting a QB that high is a risk that JJ hasn't taken since 1989. JJ likes Roma, Dak type: get them cheap, pay them big when they prove Themselves

Him:

Probably correct. I'd personally stick with Dak and try improve him each year.

Would you deal him for top 5? Can he reach his potential? Would you be satisfied if he tops out at mere 5-10 QB?

I'm sorry, but that is the stupidest conversation I have read in awhile.... especially from a supposed "QB guru ". You have a QB on the roster with a ceiling of two 1st ballot HOFers and a floor of top 5-10 QB that you drafted in the 4th and you wouldn't blame Jerry for trading that for an unknown commodity that could be a complete bust. Lucky was one of the most sure draft picks coming out and he is at best a 5-10 range QB. Morning would be more stupid than trading a known commodity for an unknown potential. And to say JJ is that type of gambler obviously doesn't know JJ very well, despite some stupid moves, he has never done anything like that.

With the injury to Hitchens lately, it seems likely that Jaylon might be pressed into action a bit sooner than expected. Can't honestly say as I'm disappointed. Here's hoping he remains healthy and continues to improve steadily. May the Good Lord be at his side and the wind at his back.

Offense was lousy in this 1.

Defense had a couple of mental lapses

OL didn't block well, penalties

Dak taken a sack when two outlets in front of him. Overthrow to Dez. Romoesque clock management. Don't go brain dead on me Dak! It was like Tony Romo took over Dak's brain! His best play was the overturned pass to Williams! A beauty

Jack Del Rio had his guys amped to play(defense), we were sleep walking!

You guys had me worried about the defense! I thought the floodgates were open! Just a couple of mental lapses that will be worked out!

I come away more worried about the offense

Matt Ryan was 4-11 @ Cards. Yikes! We may need Cooper Rush for that one!

11-14 113yds and a TD, probably another one had McFadden not fumbled. Seriously?

thinking to put wear and tear on J.Durant for awhile, and continue to ease J.Smith into the NFL......maybe W.McClay can put another fire out on cutdown day with a late round trade or waiver wire pickup of a vet.

Yeah, assuming Durant can get healthy and stay that way for awhile. Another LB from waivers is surely a possibility going forward.

So....game plans early in the season just might try to focus on controlling time of possession and limiting pressure on the defense...yes? Was last year's team better able to execute this approach than this year's group? I think we are gonna find out.

Here's hoping our defensive backfield rookies get to play in the last preseason game and make some much-needed headway. We'll likely need it, as we approach the upcoming regular season and game one with the Giants. Our secondary will be obliged to develop in a hurry if we hope to be having a successful season in 2017. It's far from hopeless, although it's somewhat troubling right now. Here's hoping Awuzie's and Lewis' hurts heal pretty doggone quickly. We'll evidently be needing to utilize their talent ASAP.

I'm curious what this is based on. The defense has been great on 3rd downs this summer and got beat for a big play tonight when the secondary was confused.

Needs to be stated that they have only played one qb but there is no preparing for these games anyway so its just team running plays.

2 badly blown coverages for TDs vs the Raiders first team and over all guys open on both drives.

It's preseason. Remember last year this time? How did our season end? The coaches will work with the problems. If not for preseason to fix the problems, then I would join you by saying....Seriously.

Yes the pass coverage was suspect at best. One the first raiders drive Carr missed a wide open receiver for an easy first down to force a punt.
Hopefully they improve as we get the rookies back and they get some game time. On the plus side paea and D Moore look like players

If we're relying on Jason Witten, then we're not as good as I thought. Then again, wideout is our weakest position!

He has already run more vertical routes than I remember and Dak is hitting him. He is going to get a lot of single coverage due to Dez and Beasley so he will have the chance to score TD's for us.

they threw a bunch of slants and cooper is an incredible player and just left no time for jones to recover.

That is an excellent raiders offense and the defense held its own for the most part.

Yep, against one of the better teams we are going to face. I swear I think people want them to do bad so they have something to complain about.

agreed.....I wouldn't trade Dak at this point unless it involved multiple 1st round picks and even then I'd think long and hard about it......bird in the hand is worth 2 in the bush!

You might be right on Durant. What was looking like a pickup of a progress stopper just might be a godsend. He typically struggles to finish seasons, but if he can play at least the first 3-4 games it might make the transition easier.

I wouldn't trade Dak for any amount of picks. Odd are, all the picks could be spent on QB's and we wouldn't land another QB of Dak's caliber.
