IRVING, Texas -- The Cowboys could make a roster move on Friday regarding the 53-man roster.

Tight end Scott Chandler, the Southlake native who was signed to the Cowboys practice squad Sept. 6, was getting first-team reps on the kick return team Thursday.

To move Chandler up to the 53, the Cowboys have to release someone from the active roster. If the Cowboys don't move Chandler up, cornerback Bryan McCann, an SMU product, might move from the practice squad to the active roster.

Jason Williams, the inside linebacker, has been a huge disappointment overall. Yet coach Wade Phillips praised Williams' special teams efforts in the loss to the Bears.

The Cowboys could also release outside linebacker Brandon Williams or possibly inside linebacker Leon Williams.

Brandon Williams hasn't played in a regular-season game since getting drafted in the fourth round in 2009. Williams spent last year on injured reserve and has been inactive the first two weeks of 2010.

The 2009 draft is starting to compete with some of those mid 90's Jerry/Lacewell drafts for worst in franchise history.

I knew it looked bad at time, but it's starting to look even worse than I initially thought. A backup LB (Butler) and Phillips at TE are about all we have to show for it. Of course, just our luck, he's out for the season.

Jason Williams, Brewster, Brandon Williams, DeAngelo Smith, Mickens, etc. Geez that's bad.

I still have high hopes for Brewster.

The only reason Leon Williams is on the roster is because Jason Williams is still lost in coverage after a year in the system.

What about Lissemore, or Cricket? Why carry two fullbacks and three tight ends?

Brewster might be a starting OG or RT next year, at the very least, I see us dumping Holland and moving RB into the 3rd guard spot.

JWill will probably end up being a nickel LB for us. I heard us talking about possibly moving Butler inside this offseason, so IDK if that is a possibility. BWill's burst off the line impressed DWare enough to comment on him during TC too. Phillips will be back too.

The draft doesn't look sexy at all with a nickel LB and OG being the first two picks. Remember we still didn't have a 1st or 2nd round pick. I think we draft better when we have a 1st rounder, look at the Jacob Rogers/Julius Jones/Stephen Peterman draft in 2004!

Bingo. Do you expect all All-Pros with no 1st or 2nd round pick?

It sure looks like Brewster is being groomed to be the swing tackle next season with Barron most likely gone.

Cricket is gone.

Based on Gronkowski looking good Sunday, Anderson being injured and the TE/FB being pretty much one position group, I'd say that would be the expectation.

Although Anderson could just end up on IR.

could have drafted loadholt and groom him into the replace for columbo, instead we got cute and traded down to acquire more draft picks for "depth" and "special teams"

I really wouldn't mind two moves.

I like Cricket, but I don't know if he is worth constantly waiting on to be healthy.

I don't see the point of having 5 ILBs either if you don't trust two of them. It's not like they are adding a lot to the team if the coaches are scared to play them.

It's Bach. Any chance he can get to piss all over Jerry Jones will not go non-urinized.

yea right thats why he inactive every week huh ?

maybe Bulter is just better than B Williams

If they make a move, I hope it is to get a cover LB. They lack one and TEs are going to kill them.

lol, trade to get Carp back! :lmao2:

Lets not jump the gun here. I think Brandon Williams has a future. Not sure about Brewster. That depends on him getting a real work ethic and losing the 50+ lbs of blubber around his gut and replacing it with muscle.

Jason Williams. I like everything about him except he appears to dumb to become a good player. To play in the NFL, you need intelligence. I'm not sure he has much of that.

Meh. Loadholt isn't anything special and we have Brewster and Sam Young to choose from as Colombo's replacement. Both looked promising at RT in the preseason, esp Young.

The fact that we might have to wait until the conclusion of this season for Barron to be gone says volumes....:banghead:
