No sale. I cant be the only one that thinks the offense is one Miles Austin injury away from becoming terribly easy to defend. Last year was the first Miles stayed healthy and I hope it's a trend. I like Ogletree, and Crayton is OK but I wouldnt want to depend on them in Miles absence. You can have the rest of the receivers on the roster.

Good point.

But we're told that Roy is really, really gonna try to earn his money this year.

James is in the last year of his contract. It would make sense that they don't want to spend another big money multi year contract for when Bradie is coming into his career downside.

There's really only one way I would be disgusted with the draft, and that's if they take Taylor Mays in the 1st round. You would think that a team that spent years upon years trying to hide the deficiencies of Roy Williams in coverage would have learned their lesson.

James' contract runs out through the 2011 season.

He better really, really try and do the job because if not he will be gone and even he seems to really, really know that.

I think its pretty clear the cowboys go heavy on OL and LB

I will be shocked if they take a S or WR before round 5. They have never placed a high value at those positions regarding the draft and I don't expect them to start

I might have a contact, and that contact might have told me that the Cowboys are grading Taylor Mays as a potential ILB.

A #1 pick for a "potential" player? Seems kinda high to me.

That's nice, seeing as how he isn't going to make it as a coverage safety.

I know a lot of people think they are draft experts but when Ciskowski and crew say that a player has a first round grade I realize they know a hell of a lot more than me.

Hubris is not a good thing.

Did you know Miles Austin was going to have a pro bowl season last year ?

Yeah, I'm glad to hear this. We got Jason Williams last year... Now we need another ILB, hopefully a bigger one like Bradie.

I wonder why they didn't mention Carp... He's still pretty young... ;)

Cowboys obvious needs will be OL, ILB, returner and maybe safety/DE. But not a fan of the ILB options of this draft class. Spikes is nasty and instinctive but a limited athlete, not quite a Wade type. And McClain, the only first day talent at the position has Krohn's disease which is a huge red flag.

As much as I like Bennett, I would consider trading him and Carpenter (a true SAM OLB in Zimmer 4-3) for Maualuga and the Bengals' 2nd. Maualuga is a bigger harder hitting more athletic version of Spikes who would excel as a MIKE and pass rushing threat in Wade's 3-4.

Oh **** me sideways..

Cowboys grade Mays as a first rounder?

I did nothing to deserve this.

I dont care what they have him graded, as long as we dont draft him.

Just because they have a 1st rd grade on the guy doesnt mean they'd draft him. I'm sure alot of teams will have a first round grade on the guy.

Also, I doubt anyone from our front office or scouting department is sharing anything with Calvin Watkins (or anyone else in the media) over what our draft board looks like, or what grades they have on what players.

Ive never been in a draft war room or ever saw a draft board, but I would have to think that if you place a 1st round ground on a player, then you would have to think he has 1st round talent. I'm not saying we should draft him, I'm not even saying the article is true - actually I think its hogwash.

I think Mays will be comparable to Leron Laundry and I'm not high on him. During the draft I really wanted him, but watching him get toasted by Witten during the 2nd game against us, I quickly was happy that he was a skin.

All that being said, I have confidence in Citokowski (sp). He's done a great job. And I can admit, he knows an awful lot more about these players than I.

$13 mill guaranteed for Roy????

Wow..........does Roy wear a ski mask to pick up his game checks???

I really dont know how Roy shows his face around Valley Ranch. If I was getting paid that type of coin at my job and I sucked as bad as Roy does, I would be embarrassed as hell to pick up my check every 2 weeks.

Ya..but if they have a first round grade on him and he's there at 27...

I'm just putting two and two together and I'm nervous as hell.
