ESPN Dallas: Deion Sanders and Charles Haley are semifinalists

The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced its semifinalists on Sunday and former Cowboys Deion Sanders and Charles Haley have made the list.

Haley made it as a semifinalists last year, but didn't get inducted, while Sanders is a first-time semifinalists.

Haley played from 1986-1996. He was a Cowboys defensive end from 1992-1996.

Sanders, who played from 1989-2005, was a Cowboy from 1995-1996.

It seems Sanders is a strong candidiate.

The results of the modern-era reduction vote to 15 finalists will be announced in January.

In the NFL, you don't go in as part of a team.

I think there will be a larger turnout of Cowboy fans for him than there will be Falcon fans.

He made his name in ATL, spent more years there than anywhere else (Dallas was second), and he was just inducted into the Falcons ring of honor.

However, he played for several teams, so I'm sure fans who like him will show up for him, including plenty of Cowboy fans.

You do go as a part of a team but you are listed on the HOF website in bold if you spent most of your years with a team over another. For example, Mike Ditka is listed under the Cowboys and Bears but is listed in bold under the Chicago Bears. He is considered a Bears HOF and not a Cowboys.

I understand that. I know they won't announce him as a former Falcon. That's not what I am saying. I am saying on the Pro Football HOF's website players are listed in bold under their primary team. I know I have heard where someone will say the Cowboys have 14 HOFers or something like that but when they mention that those are the players that played the majority of their career with the Cowboys. I am not making a big deal about this just pointing out that the Pro Football HOF does distinguish players and the teams they played on they just don't come out and state it during the ceremonies. That's all.

And yes those are the only teams Deion played with.
