ARLINGTON, Texas -- DeMarcus Ware had his first multi-sack game Sunday since Week 5 vs. Tennessee, dropping Washington’s Rex Grossman twice.

Now with 11.5 sacks on the season, Ware set a team record with his fifth straight season with at least 10 sacks.

“I think the main thing is being consistent,” said Ware, who had been tied with George Andrie and Jethro Pugh with four 10-sack seasons. “I harp on that and if I can do that every year, that’s a big accomplishment. But I’m looking forward to next week and Arizona and trying to get more. I always try to get pressure.”

Ware had a monster game. Sacks were nice but he was pretty solid runinng down santana moss a couple of times.

It's his ability to darn near chase down Santana Moss from behind that's more impressive to me. He is absolutely dominant at every phase of his game. The best in the league on defense in my opinion.

This. His sacks are nice, but he's pretty good at shutting down his flat. Lucky to have this player. Good for us to taking him over Merry Man

On that first one I was jumping thinking the ball was about to squirt out. No idea how Grossman managed to hold on to it. Should have been two FFs.

Ware now has 76 sacks on his career. He is 1 sack behind Greg Ellis for 2nd place in Cowboys History. He would only trail Jim Jeffcoat's 94.5.

Remember, the sack was not an official NFL stat until 1982. So Harvey Martin, Randy White, Bob Lilly, George Andrie, and Ed Jones all trail Ware since much of their career was when the stat was not tracked.

When he turns the corner and his right hand flys up like an Atlanta Braves Chop, I get very very excite.

The question will be when it's all said and done will Ware be the best defensive player in team history?

I'm guessing there is no video file of these games available for someone to go back and tally?

His pass rushing skills are ridiculous.
Leverage and pursuit are second to none.Look at how he turns the corner.
On the sack that caused the fumble he humiliated that LT(#71).

Not of every NFL game so the NFL will not sanction it to be done. If they did I would gladly watch the films and do this statistical work.

I'm not knocking DeMarcus Ware, but let's be honest, if he HADN'T sacked Grossman today, I'd have started to worry.

Even Bledsoe watches that guy play and thinks to himself "You know, you might want to work on getting the ball out."

Why is this? I didn't become a big football fan until the late 90s and only just now really know the history of the team, players, etc., usually from NFL Film and guys like yourself.

It would be enjoyable for me to be able to watch at least selected games froom history.

Well, for one thing a huge chunk of the games were played before the first televised game in 1939. I am not even sure when the first televised NFL game was. I should look that up.

Replay technology hadn't come along for a period after that and for years the NFL simply did not track tackles or sacks.

Since there are not records of every single game they will never commission this for the games that do exist.

If they did, I am quite sure that Harvey Martin would hold the NFL record for single season sacks. in 14 games in 1977 I have heard anywhere from 23 to 27 sacks.

He's been judged by a few on here as having a bad game... he was all over the place making tackles down field, pursuing plays and filling gaps...

He really had a terrific game today...

I just don't know why I can't go buy Dallas Cowboys Season 1977 or something. Why shouldn't I get to watch old seasons that I was never privy to?

He's been a little off, but I think teams focusing on shutting down Rat has a big piece to do with that. Nobody can do what he dad last year each and every season. I'll still take him.

Yeah, but that doesn't stop the Cowboys team from going back and rewatching the video and tallying up the sacks for the team record. They can even put an asterisk next to it and call it unofficial if that helps.

Oh I absolutely think the NFL doesn't realize just how much they are missing out.

There are 51 seasons of Dallas Cowboys football when this one is over. I would buy every single season, good or bad. I would watch the entire games over again.

I have all 5 of our Super Bowls, commercials and all and I frequently in the off season will watch them again. I have Roger Staubach's last game and I have watched it at least 2 dozen times.
