FRISCO -- For those of you wondering why Roger Staubach is focused on not throwing the ball into the ground for his ceremonial first pitch on Monday, Marc Colombo provided the reason.

Colombo, wearing a Frisco RoughRiders jersey, threw the ball hard and got it maybe halfway to the plate. It did get there, just not in the air. Colombo was a good sport and laughed it off.

I expect better from Staubach on Monday.

We're just about ready to start out here. It's a nice day for baseball and looks like a big crowd filing in.

I was at an Astros game and the guy threw the pitch right over the catchers head, slamming into the back wall.

There was the collective "Ohhh" - you know, like everyone is embarassed for the guy. He acted humiliated.

I'd much rather do that than bounce one. You know, show off the old arm strength.

every guy that I have heard talk about throwing out the first pitch says it's brutally hard and nerve racking.

whay anyone wouldn't practice before going on the field in front of so many people is beyond me.

I'd make a production of it. Shake off a few pitches, find one I liked, check the "man" on first, stare the "batter" down, wind up, and throw it right into the turf like an idiot.

That would be funny, but I would try not to bounce it.

she prolly got paid big time to do that. Japan is nutty about celebrities.
