As a former O lineman and O line coach, the O-line would take a ton of pride if Zeke were to get it.

They may have a point...Our OL is so good, even the botched Lucky reverse would have gone for 6 had we executed correctly. Look at all that open space he had:

These and all other plays are made possible by our studly OL. We just have to execute. Both Dak and Zeke reap the benefits, but I won't complain. :D

Pretty much the same offensive line that lead us to 4-12 last year. Its a great unit but lets not ignore that it takes talent at the QB for it to really be sucessful. No team can suceed without good Quarterback play. We also have a pretty good running back too.

That same OL got DMac a thousand yards rushing without a full 16 games played. And DMac performed awful in a zone-blocking scheme with the Raiders.

Our 4-12 was a product of the WB carousel and conservative nature. Even then Moving the ball wasn't as much a problem as scoring in the red zone was.

That being said, Zeke is a phenom.. defenses are scared to death of him and adjusting their whole defensive looks to key in on him specifically. The Tampa LBs weren't getting deep enough all game in passing routes they were so scared of Zeke.

I don't think you can have a great O-Line if you don't have a great center. Too much responsibility at that position if you're less than great, defenses will take advantage and it collapses the entire O-Line's work. I was ecstatic at getting Frederick because it meant no more Gurode and Fred came from Wisconsin.

The other thing is that for the most part, we kept players at one position and didn't move them around until after a year or so. We didn't move Martin to left guard or Leary to right guard. Even though it's still the guard position, the change from left to right is a noticeable difference to where if you make the change too soon it inhibits their progress.

It helped to have a great O-Line coach in Callahan who used modern football schemes and knew what to look for and how to develop O-Linemen.

I hate how everyone says Dak or Zeke cannot win MVP because of the OL. So sure, maybe they should win MVP. There's always a first for everything.
Neither is worthy of the MVP. Dak isn't our team's MVP. Zeke has a better case of the two.... And Zeke hasn't even been the best running back in football.

I'm unclear why this is a controversy.

The Cowboys OL of the 90's would not have lost the line of scrimmage battle against these Giants twice.

This group is more of a fitness group.

Our 90s OL ran power schemes the majority of the time.

People who say the OLine stuff like to say how McFadden had 1000+ but they never bring up his TD total.....compare Zeke's TD this year to Darren's last year and their narritve drops

After the Giants game they clearly were not the MVP, they couldn't block the Giants front much at all.

I remember this time last year there were whispers that the Oline was overrated. Add a little Dak and Zeke and now they are the MVPs, funny how that works.

I also heard they were overrated when Romo got hurt in preseason.

Probably because Zeke has been the best RB in football.

You can take your receiver RB's if you wish. But just watch the Steelers or Cards and it's not hard to see how defenses don't game plan them out of the game. In fact teams are ok with Bell getting his yards because thy are more worried about Brown twerking in the end zone a few times per game.

The Titans have 3 first rounders on their line. And their tackles were both top 11 picks.
It didn't seem to help Bishop Sankey and company last year.
It didn't stop them from trading for Demarco or drafting the Heisman trophy winner from last year.
