FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- With the Super Bowl fast approaching there are several former and current Cowboys players all over the place.

On Wednesday, outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware was in the house plugging a new shoe and talking about the ending of the season. Ware said toward the end of the Vikings loss in the NFC divisional playoff game he couldn't wait for the game to end.

Also, Emmitt Smith, the NFL's all-time leading rusher, was in the house doing all sorts of interviews, including one with his former teammate Michael Irvin.

Smith's fullback Daryl 'Moose' Johnston is also here doing some interviews on radio row at the media center.

The guard for those 1990s Cowboys teams, Nate Newton is also in the building doing his thing. There should be more Cowboys coming in the next few days, maybe even Charles Haley.

Dwight Freeney is frustrated by ankle

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- The Colts best pass rusher Dwight Freeney said he's frustrated by an ankle injury that is slightly getting better.

"There is a little frustration there, definitely," Freeney said Wednesday morning. "You never want to get hurt, especially in the fourth quarter with two minutes left. Maybe if it was in the first quarter or the second quarter, you’re like okay, you know what, it’s the beginning of the game. This is part of the game and this is what happens. No one knows when this type of thing is going to happen, you just have to think positively after the fact and just keep on getting better."

The Cowboys can relate.

When outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware suffered a neck injury vs. San Diego in December there was a thought he might miss a few games, especially after getting taken to the hospital on a stretcher. But Ware returned for the next game vs. the Saints and recorded two sacks.

Ware said at the time he was worried about his neck, but when he awoke the next day he felt a million times better. As the week progressed, his opportunity to play got bigger and his worries subsided.

"Well for me the way I look at things, I never really worry," Freeney said. "This kind of thing is not in my hands. I just take it one day at a time. I just continue to focus my energy on positive things and getting my ankle right. It’s day-to-day. It’s hard for me to put numbers on it, percentages on it, of where exactly it is, but it’s definitely getting there."

Ware Didn't Sweat Vikings Late TD
Posted by jellis at 2/3/2010 2:58 PM CST on truebluefanclub.com

Some Cowboys players and coaches were bothered by the Brett Favre's garbage-time touchdown pass in the Divisional playoff game at the Metrodome, but linebacker DeMarcus Ware wasn't one of them.

During an interview with Deion Sanders on the NFL Network, Ware said the late score didn't bother him because the outcome had already been decided.

"This is football," Ware said. "It's cutthroat. You're a gladiator out there, so you've got to play to the end, but we lost the game. It was bad."

"I wanted to get out of there. I didn't even care. It was what, 20 or 30 seconds left? I wanted to just get out of there and go home at that time, because it was over."

The touchdown prompted Keith Brooking to head toward the Vikings sideline in search of answers. Nearly three weeks after the loss, Ware took consolation in the same thing as a number of other people in the organization - next season's rematch in Minneapolis.

"Sometimes people want to rub it into your face and say, you know, we're a better team," Ware said. "But we've got them next year. I think they're on our schedule next year, so everything will work out right."

Nobody got injured. Just looking for the positive side of a grossly negative situation............

For a real warrior like Ware that sounds right. Bottom line is that SPORTSMANSHIP is all about what YOU do and not what anyone else does.

If it's so cutthroat, why is Favre still *****ing about the 7 FG game over 10 years ago...

Oh... I forgot... it's Favre and he is justified in that case... ;)

It's not their job to put points on the board...

So the Vikings scored 0?

*edit* and before you start the excuses, as much as the stalled first drive and missing the FG hurt, immediately giving up a 47 yard TD after that pretty much set the tone for the game. Giving up another 27 points after that didn't help.

Yes, the defense is just as much responsible as anyone else on the team of losing the game.

Excuses??? :laugh2: You mean like not holding the Viking to 0 points so we could win by 3?:lmao:

We held them to 17 points for 3 full quarters, then they scored 14 garbage points in the 4rth after the D was gassed but yeah let's talk about excuses...

The defense did enough to keep us in the game and for the offense to do something. The Vikings didn't put the game truly away until early in the 4th quarter but the offense did next to nothing. No our defense didn't dominate but they gave the offense plenty of chances and they didn't take advantage when they had chances.

The offensive line lost the game for us. When your QB has 1.5 seconds to throw the ball, you are not going to win.

That's the obvious scapegoat...

Once Flo left the game, we had no chance.

We were doomed to fail when the coaches allowed injured players to take the field. Colombo and Barber were worthless out there. And who knew that Gurode was playing thru a knee injury??
