ESPN: Does DeMarcus Ware get enough respect?

Over the last week, there is this debate as to just how good Cowboys outside linebacker DeMarcus Ware is.

It's clear the players, in a poll conducted by NFL.com, don't believe he's the best defensive player in the game, or for that matter ranked among the Top 10 players in the game.

Ware is ranked 12th overall by his peers. He also wasn't ranked in the top 10 of the ESPN NFL bloggers' rankings, either. Ware again was 12th, receiving just three votes from the eight-man panel.

He's regarded by most to be a top 5 defensive player. He more than gets his due.

Until they stop hosing him for defensive player of the year its hard to argue that he gets enough respect.

I agree.... The man is averaging an insane 13.3 sacks per year.

I think he definitely gets respect around the league and in the media. I think fans are the mutants that are somehow knocking Ware, and we've all seen it right here.

If Offensive Coordinators have to plan around him, then he gets respect. All that other stuff is fluff. I'm very happy he plays for the Cowboys.

Granted all that other stuff being fluff does have perks involved (pro bowl, All Pro, etc.)

I don't know... If you ask Marshall Faulk he's not in the top. :laugh2:

I hated listening to Faulk before that show aired, I just caught it a few minutes ago and my hatred is reaffirmed. GFY Marshall Faulk!

In almost every football publication I read ranking guys, DeMarcus Ware is considered one of the top defensive guys.

But as is usually the case with these things, when the Cowboys win a Super Bowl, Ware will get even more major props.

However, remember, quarterbacks are always going to get more love.
