This is a no brainer.

Marion Barber will have to earn his way back to the top of the pack, and as much as I love him, I dont know that he can.

Felix is our guy, and Choice deserves to get a few more carries per game. Felix gets an automatic 15 touches, that's un-debatable I'd like to think.

However, with us being a passing team (it's a passing league) I think Barber and Choice will battle it out for the remaining 10-15 carries.

Barber's value is down right now because our Oline can't win in the trenches when it matters, but Choice always seems to make a play here or there when he's in the game. He's deserved the PT

Anyone want to go out on a limb and say Felix is not a feature back, so they can be the first calling for his replacement next year? :p:

The Barber hatred is ridiculous. This is the same guy that people were moaning about not starting just 2 seasons ago. He is being misused as a feature back and he may be overpaid, because management is stubborn, but that isn't his fault. He has a role to play on this team. Yes, Choice needs more work. But as others have said, Felix is a made of glass. We are going to need Barber.

Two seasons ago he wasn't hurt more often than healthy and running in quicksand.

This league is all about "what have you done for me lately". I cannot even recall how many times I have heard that.

Lately, Barber has not been a starting caliber player and I don't see any reason why a draft pick couldn't give what he gives.

That said, I love the guy and want him on this team. Yes, I'm straight homering on it but so be it. I want his passion and intensity on the field but if he isn't getting the job done, it needs to be on the sideline.

Less than stellar run blocking from the OL may have something to do with Barber going from the Golden Boy (25 yard run out of the endzone against NE in 2007) to everyone's post-TO bum. :(

Ok, first I could be wrong about this. It's pretty clear to at least me, that Barber was his usual self until the quad injury in the second game. Since then he's not been himself. Now that could be the injury has permanently declined his talent. It's far more likely he just never got completely healed. And I say this as common sense and as a professional opinion.

So I don't get all the Barber sucks crap. Let him play this year. He should be close to 100% by the start of the season. If he's not then all you do is drastically reduce his number of snaps. Choice and Felix will eat them up. The only complaint is the money. The downside of dumping him is prematurely getting rid of a probowl player. Not a lot of risk involved in playing the guy and getting a feel for his current talent.

Patience grasshopper.

Who cares what the reason.

He wasn't getting it done. Felix was and in limited play Choice was as well. They have the same OL.

Exactly.

I don't want to lose any of them I just want to see them redistribute the carries so that Choice and Felix carry the load for the majority of the game and then they use a heavy dose of a fresh Barber late in the games.

This is the source of my frustration for quite some time now and also my precise sounding board material. If we can't get some value in trade for a declining Barber, then distribute the ****ing ball properly!!

Barber is a luxury we cannot afford.

We can git something for him and at the same time allow Felx and Tash carry the load.

Afraid of injuries. then move on to poker or the luge where injuries do not occur. In the real world, injuries do occur and teams manage to adjust.

Excellent post! I agree 100%
