ESPN: Felix Jones honorable mention as rookie to make impact in 2008

Am I the only one who wouldn't be completely shocked if Felix turned out to be better than Barber? I'm still not totally confident that Barber will hold up that well as the lead back.

I think MBIII will lose his effectiveness if he used as a traditional "starter".WE have Felix and Choice and we should keep MBIII's touches to aorund 15 a game.

When discussing Felix, I see his true comparables as CJ, Charles, and Slaton...with Felix and Chris Johnson having similar numbers.

Having said that, I won't be surprised if Felix explodes several times this season because teams can't load up against the run vs Dallas....we have way too many weapons.

Matt Forte is the number one back in Chi town

Jones will be splitting caries with Barber, which means that Forte will have the opportunities to impact the game, unlike jones

Felix Jones has a chance to accumulate 2,000 total yards

Forte doesn't

I think we'll have a 3 back rotation. The staff is going to experiment for the best rushing attack for each opponent.

Barber has that bounce around cutback style that lacks burst (but I like it). Where as Felix has a similar style, maybe less bounce, but doesn't loose much speed in doing so.

This will be a big factor due to our passing attack. That small opening will be hit faster for larger gains.

OK, fingers crossed, everyone go deep.:)

The Bears will struggle to get to 2,000 yards by week 10.

Im still worried he's just gonna be a poor man's Reggie Bush which is worth as the same as a wealthy man's Reggie Bush.
If Felix is Reggie Bush, I'll do cartwheels around Texas Stadium.

How do you get honrable mention in a make-believe award show?

Like hell he does. Let's not go completely out of our minds here.... oh wait, I see what you did there. Clever.

Thats actually possible when your talking about kickoff returns, rushing, and receiving yardage.

Yeah, you're right, of course. Nevermind that the comparison to Forte is then rendered almost useless because you're comparing apples to oranges.

Ted Ginn actually had 2,086 all purpose yards last season if my maths correct.

KO 1,433
REC 420
PR 230
Rush 3

and what and why are we comparing?

I remember when Ware was getting all the defensive rookie of the year pre year awards. Did he get or deserve it? No. Might he be the best LB in the game now? At least one of the best. Thing is that you never know what a rookie is going to do his first year and you never know how he will build upon that. These articles make little to no sense.

Jamie Dukes, for one, says Felix is his pick for ROY.

Yeah Jamie Dukes has a not so secret man crush on the Cowboys... I don't think Felix Jones will be offensive ROY because he won't be the feature back but I believe he'll have an pretty big impact.
