With the emergence of Dowdle, I am leaning Burden and going RB round 2 or 3

Something like Hampton or Johnson and bring Back Dowdle
Yea I like the idea of pairing him with someone that has a little more home run speed or is more dynamic in the pass game.

We've been beaten by the Saints and Bengals so they both should be ahead of us in the standings. We should pick before them, no?

Seeing the next 3 picks hurts lol.

I know Jeanty has a very high ceiling as a RB, but we've seen it with previous backs, most do not survive a bellcow load after 4 years. And if he's a stud, he probably pulls a Zeke and wants a new deal after year 3 as he knows the wear and tear will hurt sooner than later.
Just won't be a fan of a RB high in the draft, especially when DT is a harder position to get talent in the draft and IMO is a bigger need.

Seriously doubt he is going to approach that. Barkley got 12M
IDK Darth..........Barkley got $12M before he lit up the league.....same with Henry. They both signed after unimpressive performances with their former teams. Hell, $12M would be too low for Barkley's floor today.

You could be right coz Rico doesn't have a lot of skin on the wall but I still don't see Jerry offering a lot. Especially with Stephens saying things will still be tight in 2025.

I think 2/3 years 5/6 mil per is probably closer.

That is an overpay for Dowdle. You don’t waste 5 million a season on a JAG back. Maybe give him 5 to 6 million guarantee on a 3 year deal that is really a two year deal. I would rather draft two running backs but of course Jerry blew our 4th round pick because his pocket was burning at the trade deadline like my daughter with my credit card. :(

He is a great player and would instantly upgrade our terrible run game, but I'm not taking him over Harmon, Walker or Nolen. Upgrading the D-line is too important for this team and very good RB's can be had later in this deep draft class.

I will say this though, if any team drafts a RB in rd 1 these days the plan should be to cut him after 5 years and do it again. Keep the RB for his best years and about 75-85% of his shelf life and then let them walk to get paid elsewhere. If you don't want to only get 5 years out of your 1st rd picks than don't do it.

Fully agree and Hubbard, a younger rb w/the Panthers, just got an avg of 8-9 so no way I see Rico getting more than that or super close. 5-6 is reasonable IF they are going to re-sign him.

Every advanced metric out there disagrees with him being a JAG but we’re entitled to our opinions.

It also doesn’t matter what you and I think he’s worth he’s the next man up in FA that’ll be young and coming off a 1K+ yard season.

Advanced metric against two of the worst defenses in football. We will see what Dowdle has in the final four weeks.
