I think that is what the new head of ESPN is trying to do. The network forgot what made it successful in the first place.
the more shocking thing tbh is fox sports 1 following suit.
they paid even more to steal espn "talent" like skip bayless... hilariously bad decision with that type of programming tanking.

mad Max Kellerman ought to be shown the door next...and Stevie ARSE smith needs his walkin papers too. No place in sports for politically motivated hatred,or politics PERIOD END OF STORY. Folks want to be entertained and unplug for a couple hours when they watch sports shows or go to a sports venue.. ESPN use to be the purest form of that, until they lost their way.
I truly respect your opinion on this but what usually plays out is fans only don't want politics with their sports if they disagree with the opinion given. When they agree, then that person at the network is "real" or "speaks the truth". This is true for all sides of a debate. I agree its best to keep politics out of sports, but the country's leader along with players giving opinions is forcing the paid opinion givers' hand right now.

Couldn't disagree more. I don't want to know what Lebron thinks about the president anymore than what Tiger Woods thinks. Its a divisive line of questioning and that should not be the role of ESPN. Thats why they are getting rid of the divisive personalities.

ESPN is in the midst of an employee purge and taking a different approach. If they get back to basics..old school,I will watch again. If they stay on this virtue signaling..hypocritical crap they do..and the narratives...I'm never watching.

It is easy to say when " US" has no voice or representation. Shut up and dribble should not be up to anyone but the athletes.

Yeah, Lebron is really hurting for a voice and "representation". He probably has more twitter followers than ESPN has viewers. lol

I'm not against people tweeting whatever the heck they feel the need to express. I'm against the constant coverage of it by ESPN. I'm against the talking heads who seek celebrity for their outrageous and provocative opinions. It is not good for the sport or the network.

You do know that this has been going on for years, why is it a problem now?

With a new leader and a new direction, ESPN just paid a lot of money to get rid of the controversial Jamelle Hill citing her interest to be involved in politics. It seems ESPN is rededicating itself to actually covering sports and getting out of politics. Bravo!

Jemele Hill is the only female on sports tv with an opinion worth hearing. The other women are eye candy in a crack heads eyes.

You do know that ESPN's negative, divisive reporting is fracturing the NFL along ethnic and political lines right? It is not something that happened overnight and its taken until now for the rating declines to have an effect on the direction of the network. The star of ESPN used to be the highlights and the athletic exploits of athletes. It has shifted in the past couple of years to loudmouth, opinionated talking heads trying to make a name for themselves on the back of the sports they are supposed to be covering. Good riddance to them all.

Thats the great thing about having a brain and not being a follower. I can have opinions and stand on them. It takes courage to not be a follower.

Thats the American way...........and so is getting rid of people causing their employer a problem. I look forward to the day I can watch ESPN without the underlying political agendas.

Everyone's trying to be skip and Stephen A. If it weren't for them, there'd be no sports debate shows.
