Five questions with: Cole Beasley
June, 30, 2014
By Todd Archer | ESPNDallas.com

IRVING, Texas – With the players entering the downtime of the offseason, we offer up a Five Questions segment.

Today's subject is Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Cole Beasley.
i

Beasley

Beasley has developed into one of the Cowboys' top threats from the slot. He caught 39 passes for 368 yards and two touchdowns last season. This offseason wide receivers coach Derek Dooley said Beasley has expanded his route tree, but he will mostly continue to work the slot as one of Tony Romo's security blankets.

What is your first football memory?

Beasley: It would probably be my first year playing football I was a lineman. I came to the team late and they didn't know where to play me so they just threw me on the line. I played my first game ever as a right tackle. I was in third grade, so I guess I was 8. They moved me to receiver the next game.

If you could play any other position, what would it be?

Beasley: Quarterback. You have the ball in your hands at all times.

If you were commissioner for a day, what rule would you change?

Beasley: NFL rule? That's a good question. I don't know, man. I mean to me the rules are for the offense. They kind of favor the offense, so I'll say the rule that you can't dunk on the goal post. How about that?

Yeah but it's supposed to generate discussion which can evolve into other areas. It's the offseason. But I have to admit this one seems more boring than usual. Maybe it's just me.

It was kind of a fluff piece.

I would have preferred to see him asked how he thinks he can handle playing outside like supposedly Linehan wants to do with him.

If you recall, that is why we cut Danny Amendola, mainly because he could only play inside.

Now we have a slower version of him, albeit one who can stay healthy.

Just wish there was more to the interview. :p

I don't want anyone in the NFL to know who he is or what he is going to do. Just keep it a secret. He's like raising a little mouse. Sneaky...

1. Cole, do you worry about not being a special teams player that excels a great deal wilkl end up getting you cut when the coaching staff discovers you'
re really a one trick pony in the slot?

2. Cole, think you'll play outside at WR after they discover you aren't big enough to block on running plays?

3. Cole, when Tony is having a bad day as every player does and throws balls high, what is your plan on keeping the defense from intercepting them since you can't jump up and catch of block them?

4. Cole, do you fear finding a linebacker that has sniffed out the slant when you are going across thew middle and he rearranges your sinus cavity?

5. Cole, it was said you were doing extra training with Rowdy in case he was sick but Garrett called that off since Rowdy's costume is far too big. Any truth to that rumor?
